Not sure there’s actually anything more to this than Dean Devlin making best efforts to keep up a positive buzz towards a potential 3rd season for ‘The Ark’ in genre media, but it’s nice to see a some coverage from the red carpet at the Saturn Awards nonetheless.
‘In an exclusive interview with The Direct's Russ Milheim on the red carpet of the 52nd Saturn Awards in Los Angeles, California, The Ark creator and showrunner Dean Devlin was asked if he could share any details about Season 3, specifically about a renewal.
While Devlin's response was short, it will still give fans hope, as he simply replied, "Stay tuned."’

Not sure how I missed the Saturn Award nominations, or that voting started last Wednesday, December 4th and runs through December 17th.
I’m not clear on the release period for these awards - I see nominations for Godzilla Minus One and Loki as well as very recent releases like My Old Ass. As ever, the categories have a few oddities — For All Mankind is nominated as a Fantasy television show. There are odd gaps - vfx is a film category but not for television. The increasingly meaningless distinction between linear and streaming productions has been eliminated.
Whatever — It’s great though that this very long running mechanism for acknowledgment and recognition of genre film and television is up and running again.
And I’m personally happy to see nods to a Star Trek Discovery and Lower Decks, Superman and Lois, The Ark, Farscape and others among my fandom favourites.

A SATURNO: El fin de semana se entregaron los #SaturnAwards, de la Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror de EEUU, con varios premios para la franquicia de #StarTrek, pero también para #Marvel, #Barbie, #StarWars, #Avatar, #IndianaJones, y otras franquicias.
Luego de no recibir ningún Emmy o Golden Globe, Star Trek se llevó un total de cinco premios por voto, y un premio especial. Star Trek: Picard fue la gran ganadora, con Mejor Serie de Ciencia Ficción, Mejor Actor (Patrick Stewart), Mejor Actor de Reparto (Jonathan Frakes), y Mejor Actriz de Reparto (Jery Ryan).
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds estaba nominada a varios premios, pero solo se llevó Mejor Actor Invitado para Paul Wesley, mientras que lamentablemente, Star Trek: Lower Decks perdió Mejor Serie Animada contra Star Wars: The Bad Batch. El premio especial a Logro Vitalicio fue para el elenco de Star Trek: The Next Generation, recibido en el evento por Patrick Stewart, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, y Wil Wheaton.
Lucasfilm obtuvo seis premios en total. Tres fueron para Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, con Mejor Película de Fantasía, Mejor Actor en Película para Harrison Ford, y Mejor Música de Película para John Williams, que ni debe haber ido porque tenía que separar la ropa blanca de la ropa de color, y tiró el premio en un pozo que tiene en el fondo de la casa. Star Wars se llevó dos premios votados, Mejor Serie Animada para Star Wars: The Bad Batch y Mejor Nueva Serie de Género para Star Wars: Andor, mientras que nuestro querido Dave Filoni se llevó un premio especial, el George Pal Memorial Award.
El George Pal es un premio para quienes demuestran excelencia en su género (usualmente ciencia ficción), y entre sus receptores se encuentran Douglas Trumbull, David Cronenberg, Gene Roddenberry, Stan Winston, John Carpenter, Kathleen Kennedy, Ray Bradbury, Sam Raimi, Ridley Scott, Ray Harryhausen, Guillermo del Toro, y Martin Scorsese.
Otra gran ganadora fue Avatar: The Way of Water, con Mejor Película de Ciencia Ficción, Mejor Director de Película (James Cameron), Mejor Guión de Película (James Cameron y Rick Jaffa, con Amanda Silver), y Mejores Efectos Visuales de Película (Joe Letteri, Richard Baneham, Eric Saindon, Daniel Barrett). También se llevó varios el mega éxito rosado Barbie, con Mejor Actriz de Película (Margot Robbie), Mejor Diseño de Vestuario de Película (Jacqueline Durran), y Mejor Diseño de Producción de Película (Sarah Greenwood).
Marvel se llevó Mejor Película de Superhéroes para Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, Mejor Presentación Televisiva para Werewolf by Night, y Mejor Película Animada para Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (bueno, para Sony). Por su parte, DC obtuvo los premios a Mejor Serie de Superheróes con Superman & Lois, y Mejor Actuación Joven en Película para Xolo Maridueña en Blue Beetle.
Wednesday se llevó dos estatuillas, con Mejor Serie de Fantasía, y Mejor Actuación Joven en TV para Jenna Ortega. Otros premios fueron Mejor Actor de Reparto en Película para Nicolas Cage por Renfield, y Mejor Serie de Horror para The Last of Us. Por algún motivo que no logramos descifrar, Oppenheimer, una biopic, estaba nominada en varias categorías y ganó Mejor Película Thriller, Mejor Actor de Reparto en Película, y Mejor Edición de Película.
