A large red/orange dahlia blossom that I photographed in a dahlia garden in Western North Carolina. These showy blossoms can have a diameter as small as 2 inches or as large as 12 inches … the size of a dinner plate. Always a favorite to photograph.

Experiences.

Those who follow me know I tend to take a lighthearted approach when releasing my #artwork. I feel like it often provides a good counterbalance to the dark & introspective meanings behind my creations.

I want to take things in a more serious direction since my creation came out feeling more serious itself. The darkness and introspection behind the work remain though.

I had been kicking around the idea for this for a couple years. The scene is representative of the way we view the world around us based on our experiences.

Some may see a quiet sunset on the marsh. To others it may be a desolate and dead landscape soon to be enshrouded in darkness. Maybe you see treetops ablaze and the reflective nature of water opposing it. Or some may see just a mess of soft colors thrown about in an amateurish way.

It's about you, and who you are.
