Despite the USA deciding to lean into The Darkest Timeline(tm), I'm deciding to (currently) focus on work, my new musical collaboration, Satch Songs, this new Everybody Codes challenge (while waiting for Advent of Code to begin), and posting thoughts on the Internet via my self-hosted Mastodon instance that barely anyone reads.

I've started a Satriani Songs cover project for select Satch songs from the first half of his catalog (~1984-~2004).
My ambition is mighty, but reality will show how it shakes out. Here's the list:
* 1984 Not of this Earth, Rubina, Brother John
* 1987 Hill of the Skull
* 1989 Back to Shalla-Bal
* 1992 Summer Song, Tears in the Rain
* 1993 Time Machine
* 1995 Home
* 1998 Ceremony, Secret Prayer
* 2000 Flavor Crystal 7
* 2002 New Last Jam, Hill Groove
* 2004 Up in Flames -

When I first started playing guitar in the 1990s, I discovered Joe Satriani. I feverishly tried to mimic his abilities, largely failing, but as someone who was learning the instrument, I appreciated his virtuosity. And he's got tons of bops.
For the last couple decades, I dropped off the Satch train, hopping on here and there to see what he's up to, but not really vibing with it as much.
Now in 2024, my obsession with playing his 80s, 90s, and 00s output has returned.

@manisha Love it!! Thanks so much for sharing - I didn't know this band!
In terms of "joy of playing" it reminds me of #Satriani: 😃
