The problem, and it's not an insignificant one, is that it will require yet another constellation of specialised satellites in VLEO, further cluttering up the skies and polluting the upper atmosphere when they inevitably re-enter and burn up - all of those exotic metals being atomised is not good news. An increasingly crowded VLEO and LEO make it harder for satellite and transit operations into higher orbits and beyond as well, with the risk of collisions increasing dramatically.

Then, too, there is the somewhat troublesome idea that we are handing more and more control of worldwide communications to a filthy rich bastard with the morals of a slug and the self-control of a toddler on a sugar high.
