Isodontia mexicana, a grass-carrying wasp that provisions nests with paralyzed tree crickets. This individual emerged from a cocoon that was in the observation panel of my insect hotel. I'm hoping this year that some will move into the pitcher plant (Sarracenia sp.) that I have growing in my new mini pond. This sarracenia grown from open pollinated seed is my favorite so far. It only stands five inches but should be beautiful next season.

Went to one of my favorite local nurseries today. Got 2 sarracenia hybrids (Dana’s Delight and Bug Bat). Also going to try my hand at growing heliamphora. Fingers crossed it goes well. #Sarracenia #Heliamphora #CarnivorousPlants
