鲶鱼效应，据说来自于北大西洋渔夫的捕鱼小秘诀：在沙丁鱼桶里放一条鲶鱼。
至于原理，据说是因为活的沙丁鱼比死的贵，但沙丁鱼懒在桶里不愿意动，经常懒着懒着就懒死了……
这时，放一只精力旺盛的鲶鱼在桶里到处乱窜，就会让懒惰的沙丁鱼们被迫翻涌起来，最终活着上岸，卖出比死鱼贵好几倍的价格。
听起来是不是很有道理！
每一个从底层员工荣升主管的打工人，都受过“#鲶鱼效应”的荼毒。哪怕团队包括自己只有三个人，也要想办法创造出一条“鲶鱼”，刺激一下懒惰的老员工（两个人的团队就算了，不舒服的是自己）。
不过，稍有生物学储备的读者已经发现了问题：#沙丁鱼 生活在近海，#鲶鱼 则生活在河里。两种鱼放在一起，桶里到底灌咸水还是淡水啊？
其实，非要双鱼同桶也行：确实有少数几种鲶鱼生活在咸水中。不过鲶鱼虽然看上去老老实实的，却是种特别凶猛的杂食性动物，不仅小鱼小虾，泥鳅、鲤鱼和鲫鱼，也是它的盘中餐。
因为吃得好，饭量又大，鲶鱼可以长到特别肥，而且它有须无鳞，肉质紧滑，是绝佳的蛋白质来源……
如果活的鲶鱼和沙丁鱼在桶中相遇了，那么鲶鱼一定会……特别开心。
假设我们强行将鲶鱼和沙丁鱼放在一个桶里，并把鲶鱼嘴巴封起来让它害不了鱼，那是不是就能顺利实现“鲶鱼效应”呢？
对不起，也不可能。
鲶鱼效应的假设是，一条横冲直撞的鲶鱼，能让懒惰的沙丁鱼群活跃起来，实现续命的目的。
但如果你养过鱼，或者短暂地喂养过待宰的活鱼，那么你一定知道，鱼命在于静止。狭小空间内的剧烈活动，会极大消耗水中的含氧量。没有氧气，沙丁鱼很快就会一命呜呼。
相反，它们静静待着也能活很长时间，实在是不需要鲶鱼来横插一脚……
这个故事最尴尬的一点在于，绝大部份讲述者都把故事背景放在#挪威。
但是，#北大西洋 没有鲶鱼（咸水鲶鱼也没有），挪威人也从来没有听过这个故事……
在英文网站上搜索“鲶鱼（#catfish）”和“沙丁鱼（#sardines）”，绝大部分结果都和钓鱼有关。唯一将两者联系起来的是这样一个问题：罐头里的沙丁鱼能不能当钓鲶鱼的鱼饵？
没错，这是一则中国人编出来骗自己人的故事。
至于为什么要把故事背景设在挪威，主角是沙丁鱼……可能只是因为挪威足够远，沙丁鱼又有一些异域风情吧。
