Chile: Memory and Struggle for the Anarchist Comrades Sara and Alessandro!
On March 20th, some sad news reached us from the other side of the ocean: two anarchists are dead. They were preparing an attack against capitalist inertia. An attack against desperation, against the convenience of obedience, which is always the easier road compared to the uncertainty of rebellion.
They could have chosen a life of resignation, yet, in that corner of the planet, amidst the ruins of the city and the tension of an action the choice of the two comrades Sara and Alessandro was the synthesis of a long history of struggle that weaves past and present, opposing life and freedom to the system of domination and death. Sara and Alessandro chose the struggle and anarchy; our commitment is to not desist from this path.

Arson Attack on the Home of the Snitch Dean of NTUA and a Riot Police Officer

In the early hours of March 25, we attacked with an incendiary device the building where the dean of the NTUA, Panagiotis Tsanakas, as well as a riot police officer, live in the area of Zografou. Our research on the chief snitch of the academic rabble of the Polytechnic brought us in front of a simultaneously special but poetically explainable coincidence. A snitch and a cop work and live together, a touching image to say the least.
Tsanakas is not simply the tsuchiki [contemptuous address for a person we consider vile and insignificant] of Hadjigeorgiou (rector of NTUA) but as the culmination of his “academic” work he has shamelessly handed over to the police a student who was writing slogans in favor of the Palestinian people on the school grounds. However, he has a deeper and more essential role in Hadjigeorgiou’s police-held monstrosity, of a rectory that allows/imposes the daily presence and the scolding of cops on campus in full compliance and obedience to the dictates of the ND doctrine for absolute control and essentially the necrosis of student and subversive struggles on university campuses. A rectorate that we have lost count of how many times has ordered the invasion of the repressive forces on the university grounds, with a particular “sensitivity” when it comes to those in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people.
Of course, Hadjigeorgiou has an additional reason to fervently desire the presence of cops on the NTUA grounds beyond serving the government’s planning. He uses them as doormen and henchmen who guard the “shop” that he has built in future collaborations on NATO programs and Jewish arms industries. Just the day after the attack, we read that a way has been found through opaque procedures and individual opinions of legal advisors to declare unconstitutional (!) Article 2 of the Funding and Management Guide of the Special Research Funds Account (ELKE), which concerns the NTUA and explicitly states “…The history of the NTUA is connected to struggles for freedom and peace. For this reason, the NTUA is not allowed to conduct or participate in research for war purposes of any kind, with the exception of research for the country’s defense needs, and no research funded by international military coalitions is undertaken.” Let us recall that the above constitutes a conquest of the anti-war movement of the era of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO forces in 1999. Of course, as early as October 2023, in the midst of the genocide of the Palestinians of Gaza by the Israeli army, with the signatures of Hadjigeorgiou and Dean Panagiotis Tsanakas, a memorandum of cooperation between the NTUA and Intracom Telecom was signed. It is therefore obvious (unless you are a lobotomist) that the results of the university’s research in this collaboration are channeled to 2 subsidiaries of Intracom Telecom, Intracom Defense and Intracom Aviator, which actively cooperate with the Israeli army and its genocidal activities in the wider Middle East.
It is therefore clear that beyond being a miserable snitch, Tsanakas is, with actions – such as the above – an active supporter of the genocide of the peoples of the Middle East and as such must be treated by radical forces. The arson attack on the house was simply a warning. We know his daily life well and depending on his future actions he will be targeted appropriately.
The other tenant of the building practices the miserable profession of a riot policeman. The descendant of Pantelis Petrou and Ioannis Georgakopoulos symbolizes for us the murderous attacks of the repressive forces on the marches of the radical student movement, the serious injuries of comrades in the memorial march for the armed revolutionary Kyriakos Xymitiris and that of December 6th, the long arm of the state that supposedly will crush without reprisal. We want to welcome every upgraded action against every riot police crackdown that has taken place recently. We will leave the many words aside and give space to the action and if this can clarify that this “long arm” will literally begin to crush, then well and good. Let him inform his colleagues for the time being that the homes of some of them are in our hands, as well as those of other fighting organizations, and their targeting will take place depending on the intensity of the repressive attack we are receiving.
We dedicate our energy to the Italian anarchist comrades Alessandro Marcogliano and Sara Ardizzone, who lost their lives after an improvised explosive device exploded. To honor their memory, we named the cell that carried out the attack after their names. Sara, Alessandro, Kyriakos and hundreds of other freedom fighters are a heavy reminder to all of us. To those who speak of a dynamic struggle against the cannibalistic system that destroys our lives. An exhortation for each and every one of us to take a small step further. To increase our risks and commitments. To steel our stubbornness and arm ourselves. To honor the memory and choices of our fallen comrades by multiplying the centers of dynamic resistance. In an era when it is necessary to fight with all our being, so that we can be there at the rendezvous for the confrontation with history and those who keep our lives in suffocating jars. To crush those who hold the whip, to shatter the phobic culture of the willing, to not turn into a museum exhibit and a fairy tale to lull our lost revolutionary dreams. The disappointment, the whining and the “politics” of bars and cafes must give way to the reborn propaganda of conspiratorial acts.

Des camarades qui apportaient des fleurs aujourd'hui en mémoire de Sara et Sandro ont été interpellés et conduits au poste de police. Ils sont une cinquantaine. Sara et Sandro, camarades morts au combat, sont et resteront à jamais dans nos cœurs.
La famille de Sara a exprimé sa solidarité avec les personnes arrêtées ce matin pour avoir déposé des fleurs près de la ferme où l'explosion a eu lieu et a exprimé sa gratitude pour la manifestation qui a suivi.
L'État et toutes les institutions s'acharnent à isoler Sara et Sandro, à effacer leur mémoire. C'est impossible, car Sara et Sandro étaient des camarades courageux, des amis proches, des personnes trop belles pour être oubliées. Certains étaient persuadés que l'enfermement de 90 personnes pendant plusieurs heures au centre de rétention de la Via Patini était une bonne idée. En réalité, durant ces près de 11 heures de détention préventive, nous avons pu parler aux jeunes camarades de la valeur de nos camarades disparus, évoquant leur courage et leur humanité.
Seuls les imbéciles et les vautours qui confient leurs pensées à des journaux plus utiles pour s'essuyer le derrière que pour nourrir leur conscience peuvent croire que les vaines tentatives de réprimer la solidarité avec nos camarades ont été efficaces.
Que Sara et Sandrone éclairent toujours notre chemin vers la liberté.

Dimanche matin, tous les anarchistes et leurs sympathisants qui s'étaient rendus au parc des Aqueducs à Rome n'ont pas été arrêtés et conduits via Patini.
Certains d'entre nous ont réussi à échapper aux tentatives d'arrestation, démontrant ainsi que quelles que soient les mesures de sécurité mises en place, il existe toujours des possibilités imprévisibles qui peuvent être contournées.
Plus tard, quittant le quartier de Quarticciolo, nous nous sommes dirigés vers celui d'Alessandrino, en tête d'un cortège bruyant. Les noms de Sara et Sandrone résonnaient fort et clair dans les rues de leur quartier.
Nous, anarchistes, ne sommes ni des victimes sacrificielles de l'indignation des démocrates sincères, ni des cobayes pour des expériences juridiques : malgré le nombre considérable de personnes détenues, nous avons atteint notre objectif. Il s'agissait en effet de réaffirmer publiquement et fièrement notre solidarité avec nos camarades tombés au combat pour la liberté.
Avec Sara et Sandrone, pour que rien ne soit vain.
Leurs voix et leurs visages vivent en nous.

Notre capacité à dire et à communiquer ne permet pas de s’aventurer sur les chemins inexplorés de la responsabilité des risques pris personnellement. Tous les discours dans ce sens restent forcément temporaires, insuffisants. Rechercher concrètement la liberté – dans sa forme la plus authentique, et pas dans les contrefaçons dispensées et imposées par l’État – cela signifie rentrer dans la dimension du risque inhérent à la recherche elle-même. Dans ce lieu, nos propres choix, parfois sauvages et solitaires, marquent la voie d’une route sans retour. La liberté c’est une qualité dont on fait l’expérience que l’en se mettant en jeu.
Là on le dit sans plonger absolument dans la rhétorique: les deux anarchistes qui ont été retrouvés morts suite à l’effondrement d’un chalet à Rome, Sara Ardizzone e Alessandro Mercogliano, sont parmi nos compagnons fraternels, que nous sommes fiers d’avoir comme compagnons. Les journaleux mercenaires, dont le papier de rebut nous a fait apprendre la nouvelle, parlent à maintes reprises de l’explosion d’un engin. Les inquiètes prises de distance, toujours utiles à s’assurer une sécurité honteuse, ne nous appartiennent pas. On a l’habitude à ne pas croire un mot de ces prononcés par la machine de propagande, mais au cas où il y aurait un brin de vérité dans les informations divulguées, on ne peut pas s’empecher de nous attarder sur un fait fondamental: Sara et Sandro sont morts au combat, en luttant. La guerre social n’est pas une comédie, ni un train de vie ni une sous-culture. C’est avant tout une guerre. Sara et Sandro sont un exemple lumineux de l’indissociable combinaison entre pensée et action qui inspire l’anarchisme, ils auront été des révolutionnaires jusqu’au dernier instant de leur vies, et dans la mort.
Sara et Sandro sont et seront toujours un morceau de notre coeur, un coeur qui ne peux pas faire autre chose que se refuser d’écrire une nécrologie.
Les divagations d’aujourd’hui des seigneurs de l’inquisition et de la répression vont de pair avec celles des patrons de la guerre et de l’exploitation. Les meurtriers, les massacreurs, les fabricants de mort, ils crient au scandale pour les bombes des anarchistes.
Avec Sara et Sandro nous avons partagé l’inépuisable passion pour la pensée et l’action anarchistes. Avec eux, certains d’entre nous ont vécu, en partageant l’intensité fébrile des instants qu’aucune horologe ne pourra jamais marquer. Avec eux, quand la machine de la repression de l’État a enquêté sur nous, nous sommes resté dignes, et nous avons consolidé la ténacité de nos choix. On en est sûr: ces journées là ne deviendront jamais un souvenir flou. Des instants qui ne reposaient pas sur des bavardages idéologiques, mais sur la conviction de nos chemins, sur la confiance mutuelle, sur la joie de la vie. Tous nous, qui les avons connus profondément, on sait qu’il n’y aura jamais des mots appropriées pour décrire leur humilité, leur douceur, leur dignité.
Voilà pourquoi la volonté révolutionnaire de Sara et de Sandro elle a la force d’aller au-delà du temps, en surmontant la souffrance et la douleur. Leur passion pour la vie sera plus forte que la mort. Leur intégrité sera toujours une mise en garde pour tous les oppresseurs.

The fronts of resistance around the world are our reference point, our strongholds, around which to unite and from which to learn. Sara and Sandro fell precisely while seeking to realize this solidarity, this vision, with the same generosity with which so many fighters around the world offer their lives. And in this, as in the best revolutionary eras and as demanded by the tragedy of the current historical crisis, a concrete internationalism, a revolutionary future, can be founded.
