CW: Nona The Ninth (Locked Tomb Series) mild spoilers
I can’t believe so many people thought the second book (Harrow the Ninth) was the weirder book of the three. I’ve only just started Nona The Ninth but it’s so… ordinary. At least by comparison to the other two books.
I feel more unnerved by this one than the first two books because it’s cute and not gruesome (at least not yet).
The author must love to torment readers with this kind of whiplash 🤪 -

I really should’ve been jotting down the other quotes I like from the book series but this one just gave me the “awww cute” feels.
It’s that kind of thing couples do all the time (well, and anyone who simply cares about a person): you see and/or experience something you might even hate but knowing the person you care about would love it somehow makes the scene more appealing and possibly even adorable.The author Tamsyn Mui does this all the time in this series. Little heartfelt moments that on the surface are actually kinda [very] gross and very violent 😅
“The floor was seething with slime and bones. Completely gross and bad. You would’ve loved it.”
