  1. There is nothing not to like about Alaska’s "Tiana’s Bayou Adventure" livery dropping into Santa Barbara today — nothing at all.

My first opportunity to see it in person, so of course I dropped everything at work and headed for the airport.

After the recent rain, it’s also nice that SBA stayed an airport this time and didn’t revert to bayou mode like last December. #SantaBarbaraAirport #AlaskaAirlines #N596AS

  5. Santa Barbara Airport closed a little after 1 AM on Christmas due to flooding, and reopened at 9:15 AM.
This was the recovery operation around 7 AM (looking down runway 7)—wet pavement, early light, and airport workers putting in long hours on Christmas to get the field ready again. #AirportOps #ChristmasMorning #SantaBarbaraAirport

  10. And fun fact: the old terminal was not orginally built facing this way - it was picked up on hydraulic jacks and moved and rotated to make room for the new #SBA terminal that was built in 2010-11. So before then, line-of-sight from this entryway would not have been pointed towards landing aircraft. Maybe they picked this orientation on purpose? #SantaBarbara #SantaBarbaraAirport
