Today I visited the abbey of San Galgano, the second time after more than 35 years. There’s no longer grass inside but gravel, a ticket office, a parking lot and a cafeteria and an art object exhibition inside the former church‘s walls.
But I‘m still awed by the presence of the building, contemplating my own transience and watching the swallows who are the real owners of San Galgano.
