Glenalbyn Swimming Pool has been abandoned by the council so we need an alternative to meet the growing need in Sandyford, Stillorgan & surrounding areas.
Even if it meant a slight chance of a slight delay in building some apartments, do you think a public swimming pool & gym would be a positive addition to Sandyford?

Thanks to Azmia Riaz of the Irish Independent for covering my repeated calls for new council-run community facilities at the vacant Imaginosity building in Sandyford.
We have the Sandyford Civic Park coming at last but we also really need indoor facilities to meet the growing needs of the community, especially as council management are looking to zone even more land for apartments in the #Sandyford area.

Thank you to the staff at #ZeroLatencyDublin for accommodating me at short notice this morning when an out-of-character whim prompted me to kidnap someone from a planned coffee meeting to a very unplanned adventure into the world of Virtual Reality games. Wouldn't have thought it would necessarily be my thing, but it was absolutely great fun and they were very welcoming to two first-timers who might not look like the expected demographic.

Just after hearing about Nicola Sturgeon’s resignation yesterday, I was in my local shop, where I saw this issue of the Torygraph on the shelf 🙄
She’ll still have to take a bit more of this as FM, until her successor is elected, but I’m not surprised she needs a break!
(For those who are unaware, this is just shit-stirring by the right-wing rag: the Tavistock children’s gender clinic in London is closing so that children’s gender services in England are less centralised, not as a result of it having been ‘discredited’, and the Sandyford children’s gender clinic in Glasgow, the only one in Scotland, is completely unconnected to the Tavistock)

when I self referred to the #Sandyford GIC just after the millennium there was a 3-6 month waiting list for an initial appointment and an expectation to be on hormones within a year or so.
It took me a year and a half to get hormones and a total of 3 1/2 years to get a referral for surgery. This created a scandal within the clinic and they reviewed their services soon afterward.
Now 3 1/2 years was remarkable and led to a review of services.
