  1. Golden sand sweeps into calm, clear waters at Borth-y-Gest, a charming coastal spot near Porthmadog in Wales, perfect for a #BeachDay. Nestled among rocky outcrops and backed by lush, green hillsides, the sheltered cove offers tranquil #CoastalViews and a peaceful #NatureEscape. Families and kayakers enjoy the shallow shoreline and scenic walks along the bay, while sunbathers relax on the soft sand of this #SandyCove. Part of the beautiful Glaslyn Estuary, it’s an inviting #SeasideAdventure for those seeking quiet charm away from crowded beaches.

In Sandycove Store & Yard a few weeks ago and it was a beautiful afternoon. The sun shone through the open roof, making it a lovely place to stop for a coffee and treat.

  5. Storm Clouds near Sandycove

As I walked to the Forty Foot a few days ago, I saw an ominous, dark cloud out at sea. Knowing that it would guarantee it wouldn’t rain, I got my umbrella from the car.

    It didn’t rain.

  7. When the family is enjoying themselves, leave the buggy close by. A lovely day in Dún Laoghaire when Sandycove was thronged, but people made the most of the day, even if the area was a little rocky.

  9. On 20 July 1974 a group of women invaded the Forty Foot bathing place at Sandycove, Co Dublin, by "land, sea and air". The bathing place, made famous by James Joyce in Ulysses, had been exclusively male until then and the women were greeted with sexist abuse and male nudity, according to one of the participants, veteran journalist and campaigner Nell McCafferty.
