Mowing the lawn Saturday reminded me that my yard is once again starting to look its worst, between the heat and occasional dry stretches and weeds starting to get away from me. But when it’s that hot outside (the last few days being a blessed exception), my interest in doing yardwork also nears a seasonal low.

7/24/2026: Starship’s 13th Test Flight Ends With a Lucky Splashdown, PCMag

Dinner was late Friday on account of my watching Starship’s launch, brief suborbital journey and then improbable survival of a soft landing in the Indian Ocean. From the test milestones achieved on this launch, it looks like SpaceX should be able to put Starship into orbit on its next test flight–which would be close to three and a half years after this giant rocket’s first launch.

Potrójnie składany smartfon i gogle XR od Samsunga? Premiera może być blisko

Wygląda na to, że Samsung nie powiedział jeszcze ostatniego słowa w tym miesiącu. Najnowsze doniesienia z Korei Południowej sugerują, że firma może zorganizować pod koniec września kolejne wydarzenie z serii Unpacked.

Jego gwiazdami mają być: rewolucyjny, potrójnie składany smartfon Galaxy Z TriFold oraz długo oczekiwane gogle XR, znane pod nazwą kodową Project Moohan.

Samsung prezentuje headset AR/VR podobny do komputera Apple Vision Pro

Choć Samsung ma już w planach premierę smartfona Galaxy S25 FE i tabletów z serii Galaxy Tab S11, najnowsze przecieki wskazują na jeszcze jedną, znacznie bardziej ekscytującą konferencję. Uznany w branży informator, Ice Universe, sugeruje, że specjalne wydarzenie Unpacked mogłoby odbyć się 29 września w Korei Południowej. Informacje te zdaje się potwierdzać koreański serwis ET News, który również wspomina o rychłej premierze.

Największe emocje budzi potencjalny debiut urządzenia Galaxy Z TriFold, czyli smartfona składającego się w dwóch miejscach i posiadającego trzy części ekranu. Byłoby to rozwinięcie koncepcji znanej z serii Fold i otwarcie zupełnie nowego segmentu w portfolio Samsunga, ale nie na rynku mobilnym jako takim, bo wcześniej potrójnie składane smartfony zaprezentowali Chińczycy: na przykład Huawei Mate XT.

Huawei Mate XT – zastanawiam się, co by się działo, gdyby taki sprzęt pokazało Apple…

Co ciekawe, Samsung planuje najwyraźniej bardzo ostrożny start. Według doniesień, pierwsza partia produkcyjna ma liczyć zaledwie 50 000 sztuk. Ma to być ruch badawczy, mający na celu sprawdzenie zainteresowania konsumentów przed ewentualnym wejściem na masowy rynek w kolejnych latach. Podobną strategię firma zastosowała przy premierze pierwszego Galaxy Folda.

Plotki wskazują również, że Galaxy Z TriFold początkowo może być dostępny wyłącznie na rynku lokalnym, czyli w Korei Południowej, oraz ewentualnie w Chinach. Byłaby to bezpośrednia odpowiedź na ruch konkurencji – Huawei ma bowiem zaprezentować swój potrójnie składany smartfon drugiej generacji jeszcze w tym miesiącu.

Podczas tego samego wydarzenia Samsung miałby wreszcie zaprezentować swój wyczekiwany headset XR (rzeczywistości rozszerzonej), rozwijany pod nazwą kodową Project Moohan, o którym wcześniej u nas pisał już Krzysztof Kołacz. Urządzenie ma być platformą startową dla systemu Android XR, czyli odpowiedzi Google i jego partnerów na Vision Pro od Apple. Na tym jednak nie koniec – przecieki wspominają także o możliwej prezentacji inteligentnych okularów „AI glasses” o nazwie Galaxy Glasses, które byłyby zintegrowane z funkcjami Galaxy AI. Wrzesień zapowiada się naprawdę imponująco.

This week saw the return of one of Washington’s most treasured rites of summer: the free outdoor concerts at Fort Reno Park in Tenleytown. Unfortunately, I let myself get spooked by the weather forecast for Monday’s show and then had a schedule conflict for Thursday’s show–and now I see that the forecast calls for rain tomorrow evening.
