Samsung DeX has helped maximize productivity on phones, foldables and tablets for years. In Android 16, we worked closely with Samsung to develop desktop windowing, a new way to interact with your apps and content on large-screen devices. In addition to the single app and split-screen modes, you can open, move and resize multiple app windows in a single screen, just like a desktop. This makes it easier to work across apps.
This is what I'm most curiously looking forward to on :androidalt: 16 (and One UI 8 on :samsung: devices :samsungcommunity:
Over the years many :android: features came from device manufacturers (one of the most notable - detailed permissions model), so perhaps this is finally the time a fully-featured desktop experience will land onto Android core and become mandatory to be supported by app vendors :blobcat3c:

With mobile devices having inherently more #security than workstations at this time and the ability for generally more granular controls, cheaper prices, and more processing power to handle most daily tasks, this is a huge win.

Descobri hoje que o programa Krita tem versão para Android. Infelizmente, pela Play Store, aparece a mensagem de que o Krita não é compatível com o meu dispositivo. Então, entrei no site do projeto e baixei o APK diretamente. O Krita funcionou.
Se você tem um smartphone que não possui suporte ao modo desktop, talvez não valha a pena instalar o Krita. Mas se for um aparelho da Samsung com suporte ao modo DeX...

A couple of blog posts for projects I worked on today. First, I configured Cockpit on my homelab to manage the virtual machines running on the Ubuntu host. I did this so I can access and manage them from the browser on my phone while in Dex-mode at my desk.

Families requiring a family tablet for kids or general use - getting a #Samsung tablet is kinda a no-brainer, no, instead of an #iPad unless you have a specific need for #iOS/#iPadOS?
They seem to perform well, idk about pricing but I expect it should be competitive to iPads, good looking screens, #Android on tablets seems just as decent and limited as iPadOS on iPads as far as I can tell for most general use except Android has multi-user support which I think is bonkers how iPadOS still does not have that yet (if not also iOS), but the biggest thing that grabs me is #SamsungDeX.
I've always thought #DeX is like... super neat. It's something I def would want over on iOS/iPadOS but I can almost guarantee won't ever come because it'd eat from #Apple's own pockets, that is, #macOS. DeX always seemed super capable where essentially, if you have a Samsung device on you, you also effectively have a desktop machine with you too you could use like a laptop you'd bring on the go for more complex tasks you'd prefer to use it for. I saw a vid recently where a dad connected his #SamsungGalaxy phone to a screen wirelessly to do some work, on DeX mode, meanwhile the phone itself he just gave it to his daughter to play some games - so the phone was used for work and gaming simultaneously without breaking a sweat.
That seems to me like a really good value. -

소니 단말기 쓸 때는 전혀 안켜져서 있는 듯 없는 듯한 팬인가 했는데 아녔네.
삼성의 팬 내장 충전거치대는 오래오래 쓸모 많은듯하다. -
