#Eurovision I have to say: re-entering Sam Ryder in Eurovision next year isn’t the worst idea. He probably would have won had it not been for the invasion of Ukraine and he has been by far the most popular UK entrant for a generation. Many would see it as only fair to give him another chance. #SamRyder

Well, I wasn’t counting on #Eurovision infiltrating the BBC’s #NewYear coverage quite so much. Not only have we had #SamRyder bookending the fireworks (including yet another variation on Space Man) but big chunks of 🇺🇦#KalushOrchestra’s winning song Stefania during them, plus The Big Eurovision Party straight afterwards. Astonishing!

I don't know how he's done it, but #SamRyder has gone from nought to national treasure in under 12 months. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, either.
