Was Yitzhak Rabin’s body too small a stack for the menacing threat of the Oslo Accords and a two-state solution?

The stack of dead Israeli bodies needed to be higher to match as a proportional response to such an existential threat as diplomacy?

Is that the hill you’re dying on here?

The two-state solution is so dangerous it calls for #SaltingTheEarth and satisfactory proportional response is a depopulated Gaza?

Just say that. Don’t hide behind theoretical what-ifs.

The Israeli military has near-perfect intelligence into collateral damage because the U.S. defense industry sold them the technology.

    Ignorance ain’t the problem.

The moral evaluation has landed on #SaltingTheEarth like Carthage or Judges 9:45.

Max radicalization = desire for independence.

What you are saying is the task of #SaltingTheEarth like Carthage and Judges 9:45 must continue.

That is the only end-state that even left-wing Israelis will accept.

As a history nerd, I long wanted to visit the place.

I’m experiencing that desire evaporate in real-time.

    This is mutually-assured moral destruction.

Just like the Christofascists won in America, Kahanists conquered the Israeli psyche.

  4. @w7voa the objectives are eliminationist and #SaltingTheEarth of Gaza.

From a hermeneutics and exegesis perspective, the “circumstances” are written in Mosaic law, as outlined in Judges 9:45.

The “circumstances “ seem to call for #SaltingTheEarth.

This is the first time I’ve seen this assertion, but it also neatly suffices to provide justification for #SaltingTheEarth in Gaza.

It’s like saying that “Al-Qaeda didn’t attack us on 9/11, it was every day Afghanis and Iraqis, you see, that is why we we have to do what we are doing, it’s their fault!”

Hamas and the Kahanists in Israeli can only envision theocratic ethnostates intent on mutually-assured destruction.

    Thanks for sharing.

As a history nerd, I think the last viable hope of a two-state solution died with Yitzhak Rabin.

Israeli public policy since then has been a choice by the electorate.

    Elections have consequences.

Netanyahu’s coalition with Kahanists is lunacy and we - especially Americans - are collectively handcuffed to eliminationists echoing Carthage and Judges 9:45: #SaltingTheEarth.
