#SallyRooney, #GretaThunberg and #BrianEno have written to the court of appeal in support of #PalestineAction before next week’s hearing 28th 29th to determine the lawfulness of the ban on the direct action protest group.
The letter, composed of only seven words – “We oppose genocide, we support Palestine Action” – is signed by more than 130 people and is the first time that prominent scholars, writers and activists have come together to defy the ban
Effectively making them terrorists.

“I wish that I could be with you this evening to accept the honour in person, but because of my support for non-violent anti-war protest, I’m advised that I can no longer safely enter the UK without potentially facing arrest,” the statement said.
Rooney has said that she intends to continue supporting the group, including donating earnings from her books and BBC adaptations of her work.

Rooney wrote in #TheIrishTimes that she supports #PalestineAction, and would donate her royalties from the #BBC to PA.
Her article is illegal in the UK. So are her donations. But Rooney is an Irish citizen living in Ireland, so the UK government can do sod all about it.
The wise response by the #UKgov would have been silence. But of course, they chose instead to give the story new legs. 🙄
