Lehigh County Controller Mark Pinsley recommends requiring new data centers to cover their eventual decommissioning costs. That makes absolute sense: taxpayers should not inherit the cost of dismantling abandoned industrial infrastructure.

" 'This is not living,' she said. 'We’re only surviving.'
"The 23-year-old said she tries to keep a clean camp and look out for others.
" 'I'm trying to make a difference,' she said.
"While she's young, many people living in the #encampments are older and vulnerable. Schwartz said she's been the target of sexual violence and theft and has witnessed drug overdoses.
"Some people lose everything they own when a sweep occurs.
" 'How is anyone supposed to live like this?' she asked."
