  1. Let’s be clear, people of Jewish, Israeli, Muslim, and Palestinian background all deserve universal human rights, and the safety that this implies.

But nobody deserves ‘cultural safety’ that impinges on the safety and rights of other people.

We live in a liberal democracy, where we recognise that ‘Your right to swing your arms ends just where the other man’s nose begins.’

The farwing’s use of ‘cultural safety’ is a misleading and malicious attempt to appropriate human rights/multiculturalism language, take it out of context and use it for their own self-centred purposes.

I hope involved people suffer consequences of defaming innocent people.

  2. Teenager in court for ‘Googly eyes on public-space sculpture known as ‘Blue Blob’.

    bbc.com/news/articles/c1wl5jp9

I hope she manages to find a lawyer who is familiar with ‘Art restoration’ damages.
My first thoughts here was ‘What due diligence did the contracted restorers and council do to ensure that the googly eyes would be safely removed?’

‘Did they attempt to contact the alleged offender to ask what type of adhesive was used?’

‘What research did they do to determine the safest method of removing the item?’

If there was no due diligence, why should the Teenager be held responsible for the damages caused by the failures of the contracted Restorer?

Lastly, if she is found responsible for some or all of the damages, I hope the sentence is in the form of community service - like cleaning graffiti.

  4. CW: Cyclists and Motorist - Saving a few seconds or causing death/injury?

Sharing the road with Cyclists (and other road users):

    Motorists,
you save somewhere between 30 seconds to 5 minutes, rushing past cyclists on the road without care.
Is the time saved really worth the trauma and criminal sentence?
