    If you are a #salaried #employee, everyone should strive for calculated mediocrity. There is simply no #business reason for any employee to ever put in more than 100% of what their job requires. Not an ounce more.

    Do you think your employer will ever pay more than 100% of the debts that they owe? Of course not.

    So why should you?

    Your relationship with your employer is a business     #relationship.

    You agree to perform a task for a specified amount of time for a specified amount paid to you.

    Usually employees expect to be able to change the terms of employment for employees because most employees aren't under contract. Employees get away with this because there are usually enough supply of employees willing to capitulate.

    (Now you know why Companies don't like Unions.)

    So strive for calculated mediocrity, people. When your employer complains, remind them that this is a business relationship and that when they start paying their vendors more than 100% of what they owe, you'll start to give them more than 100% of your time and effort.
