Saw my first two fire salamanders (Salamandra salamandra) last weekend (on #salamandersaturday ) when traipsing through the woods in the rain :blobimfine: 💚
The second one was huuuge, but very fast and seemed to have places to go and ppl to meet, so I only have very blurry pictures of it :blobupsidedown:
They are not particularly rare in the region where I spotted them (although they are a red list species and listed as 'vulnerable'), but still they are very elusive creatures and to see one is a rare experience, especially since I wasn't even looking for them!
