“Over 30 years ago, Donald Trump took out full page ads calling for my execution,” Salaam tweeted.
“On the day he was arrested and arraigned, here is my ad in response.”

A thoughtful piece that discusses the elements of the #Nakba from a Palestinian perspective.
I think it is good supplemental reading for those celebrating #Israel75 right now, because these stories are too intertwined to ever really separate. A just and peaceful settlement in Israel/Palestine will require looking squarely at both of these stories.

I have largely avoided news from #Israel and #Palestine over the last few days, but jumped over to #Haaretz a moment ago and am horrified by the headlines.
I don't have any great wisdom to add to the conversation, except to say that this not ok. None of it is:-- raids on the Al-aqsa mosque, rocket attacks on civilian populations in Israel, the use of indiscriminate firepower in densely populated #gaza... all of it is evil and should be called out as such.
#Passover is a time of celebrating liberation and practicing hospitality. It is not a time for war.

I know it is a shorthand we all use to speak of Israel and Palestine as singular entities, but in reality both nations are fractious messes, full of people with very different perspectives, and varying degrees of actual democracy.
There are many Palestinians and Israelis who want a real and lasting #peace. They just aren't being heard right now.
