Today is the feast day of Saint Dymphna: Patron Saint of Those Who Suffer From Anxiety. Depression. Nervous Disorders. Mental Illness.
Born in Ireland in the 7th century, and by 14 consecrated herself to Christ and took a vow of chastity. When her mother died, her father's mental health declined & she fled to Geel, Belgium where she built a hospital. Her father followed her & killed her.
A church was built in honour of her & so many pilgrims arrived in need of treatment for mental ills, that it was expanded. The expanded sanctuary was eventually overflowing again, leaving the townspeople to accept them into their homes, which began a tradition of care for the mentally ill that continues to this day.
Numista lists one coin, a 100 Ghela, from Belgium, picturing the interior of the church of Saint Dymphna, Geel: https://en.numista.com/438684

Hear us, O God, Our Saviour, as we honour St. Dymphna, patron of those afflicted with mental and emotional illness. Help us to be inspired by her example and comforted by her merciful help. Amen.

Today is the feast day of Julian of Norwich (born 1343). After catching a deadly disease & a priest attending to give her the Last Rites, she had a series of visions of Christ. She spent the next 20 years meditating on these and writing a book on them. As such she was the first woman to write a book in English.
One of Julian's most famous quotes is:
"Sin is inevitable, but all shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well"

Today is the 4th of May. While everyone has their "May the 4th be with you" memes (and yes, do show us your Star Wars coins please!) for firefighters, it is also the feast day of Saint Florian. Here is a piece I wrote on the Patron Saint of firefighters, and on firefighting in ancient Rome: https://coinofnote.com/st-florian-medallion/

Happy Birthday Saint Mary MacKillop! Born 15 Jan 1842 in Melbourne, she was canonised as Australia's first saint in 2010: https://www.sosj.org.au/founded-to-respond/mary-mackillop/
I have several medallions though one of the more interesting is this uniface one made into a paperweight on a resin base, which lives on my desk.

Happy St Agnes Eve!
Upon St Agnes’ Eve,
Young virgins might have visions of delight,
And soft adorings from their loves receive ...Traditionally it is the night where unwed women perform rituals before bed to dream of their future husbands.
So who was St Agnes? She was a Roman woman who lived in the early 4th century. A Prefect wanted to find his son a wife and picked Agnes as the proposed bride. Agnes however, determined to remain pure and devote herself to religious piety, refused and declared "Jesus Christ is my only spouse".
As a punishment, the Prefect sent her to a public brothel, but the "Hand of God" intervened; all the men who attempted to rape her were immediately struck blind or rendered paralysed. They attempted to burn her at the stake but the kindling would not ignite. Eventually a centurion beheaded and martyred Agnes.
To find out who your husband will be, follow these instructions to the letter: "...three girls are required to make a dumb cake. Two must make it, two bake it, two break it, and the third put a piece under each of their pillows. Strict silence must be preserved."

St. Teresa of Avila writes:
"All of us who wear this holy habit of Carmel are called to prayer and contemplation. This explains our origin; we are the descendants of those who felt this call, of those holy fathers on Mount Carmel who in such great solitude and contempt for the world sought this treasure, this precious pearl of contemplation that we are speaking about."
