Though the #SAGAFTRAstrike limited TV & theatrical work with certain production entities, the Interim Agreement enabled work to continue, and the unity of professional actors plus the outpouring of support of partner unions was an amazing experience of solidarity. From rallies to food drives, from the NAACP National Convention to Labor Day events, from Fenway Park to Pilgrim Memorial State Park, we were #SAGAFTRAstrong and ultimately made significant contractual gains after 118 days.

The SAG-AFTRA strike is over so I guess it's time to FINALLY catch up on some TV and movies without feeling like I'm crossing a fuckin' picket line.
Nice work!

Thank you to the many people who have supported me & all professional #actors on strike during this unprecedented time.
While we could not have known how long it would take to achieve an agreement, trust in the #sagaftra Negotiating Committee is paramount. I’m fortunate to know NegCom members & I believe them when they say their unanimous vote is in support of truly worthwhile gains for all who work in the #film & #tv industries.

Though the #SAGAFTRAstrike may be suspended, patience must prevail in order for #ai protections, wins in #streaming residuals, and the many other gains achieved by the #sagaftra Negotiating Committee for professional #actors to be implemented. 🧵

While picketing locations are closed, it’s important for other processes to play out.
First, the National Board must review & vote upon the Tentative Agreement. If & when the National Board votes to approve the Tentative Agremeent, agreement details will be shared with membership. Then, a formal membership vote must be taken. If & when a membership vote to accept the agreement is received & tallied, only then will a new TV/Theatrical contract be in place. 🧵

Receiving last evening’s news that the #SAGAFTRAstrike is suspended as of 12:01 AM PT today, 9 November, was pressure-relieving. I’m grateful to the members of the #sagaftra Negotiating Committee for their tireless efforts in the face of frustrating obstructionism, and the unity of the membership during this historic and impactful period. 🧵

@fletch1 A good Q.
Now there’s a Tentative Agreement, as negotiated by the #sagaftra Negotiating Committee, the Nat’l Board will review & vote, hopefully to approve. If approved, details will be shared with membership. Then, a formal membership vote must be held. This takes time to coordinate, print, mail, receive & tally. Once approved by membership, the #film & #tv contracts will be in place.
As of today, all pickets are ended. The #SAGAFTRAstrike is over. 🎉

On November 9, 2023, the SAG-AFTRA and AMPTP reached a “tentative” three-year contract agreement to end the actors' strike.

Today, members of #sagaftra New England gathered at Pilgrim Memorial State Park in a show of support on day 118 of the #SAGAFTRAstrike. (Group photo coming soon.) This negotiation is critical. If AMPTP member companies choose #AI objects over #actors, there will not only be great loss of #acting work, but loss for:
Casting directors
Make-up artists
Hair stylists
Costume designers
Wardrobe techs/assistants
Recording Engineers
Set designers
Set builders
Greenspersons

Nov 6 #WritersCoffeeClub—Would you consider an audiobook of your novel or short story?
Absolutely. As an Actor (mostly ex) I know several fantastic voice over artists whom I would employ by paying them actual money, rather than using the horrific proposal by Kindle to have an audiobook generated by AI, which will gut the voice over industry for the sake of corporate greed.
