Going to join the #KidicalMass this afternoon, from #WhitleyBay to #Tynemouth. Apparently enough of the new cycleway is now open that we can use it. It's been a long time coming!

I watched a presentation recently given by the Royal Oak City Engineer on Complete Streets. She stated that our signed "bike routes" are low traffic streets that you can "use to go through the city" and "take on a bike ride with their kids"
This four lane road is one of those bike routes. I am a reasonably fit middle aged man. I do not ride on this road. I would never take a child here. Prevailing speeds are close to 45mph.
We must do better.

Making roads safer means doing something so, instead, Oregon is thinking about making it illegal for folks under 16 to use e-bikes.
