Early pandemic I was on a panel with Warren Logan, working then on Oakland's open streets. He's now running for Oakland City Council. Great line that maybe what should be "permanent" in street design is flexibility: play streets during summer, market streets, festival streets. Love it.

If you're in Tower Hamlets this evening, please consider attending this protest at the new Town Hall to protect these liveable street improvements. Old Bethnal Green Road has three schools on it. Children are particularly vulnerable to particulates from tires/breaks/exhausts. Turning it back into a rat run so selfish people can save a few minutes in traffic is not worth endangering their future health.
