  3. Since most Westerners have pretty bad understanding of African history let me expand:

    #SouthAfrica was the West's obedient attack dog in Southern #Africa fighting its proxy wars against communist backed governments and militants during the Cold War.

    #SADF was involved in conflicts in modern states of #Zimbabwe, #Zambia, #Mozambique, #Botswana, #Namibia and #Angola.

    Yet when the public pressure against #Apartheid became too high in the 1980s we were done with them and threw them under the bus.
