  1. Update: Added an internal amplifier and speakers. Need to figure out how to clean this wiring mess up, then 3D print some panels.

    A REAL SoundBlaster AWE64 in a briefcase. With 28MB RAM expansion. Designed for Cubic Player. Running FreeDOS. Vortex86 CPU / 512MB RAM. Battery powered, basically a laptop you'd never take to an airport 😆

  11. MOD player for the Windows/Unix console: Open Cubic Player

    Originally developed for DOS, Open Cubic Player features a text-based user interface and plays a wide range of Amiga MOD formats, including compressed files. After a decade long hiatus, the program has been actively developed for several years now and is available for Windows and Unix-like systems, although the latter must be compiled from source code.

1337x.to/torrent/6523620/CHIPT

  13. People sharing their favourite MODs/S3Ms made me think of this legendary 432.75Kb file.

    Necros - Point of Departure

    Shout out to Necros, and Antoine Rosset, the creator of Player Pro which I used to rinse this out on my Performa 5200 back in the day.

  14. @layered Here you go - full song.

    youtube.com/watch?v=1aOlbFBSyx

    It's one of my favorite tracks from one of my favorite modmakers, Purple Motion of Future Crew.

  15. Okay, please help me out. In the early 2000s (I think) I was quite active with #demoscene #mod #s3m #xm and #tracking

    Then came the dark ages where I lost all my media library, samples, own mods and my library of music. Then came the depression, the time where I forgot even the basics. So please be kind and gentle, as if I was new at this.

    Could anybody get me on track again? Are there sample libraries? Which program do I use? Which (fast) tutorials are there?

    Thanks in advance!

  16. I still remember playing this song as a Scream Tracker module, using his ThunderBass alias and was instantly struck with awe

  17. Treiberprogrammierung lernen. Wieder Musik mit Trackern (#s3m oder #mod) machen. Phantasie- und Maerchenreisen veranstalten, entweder fuer die Kinder der Umgebung oder Erwachsene.

    Seminare "gefuehrtes Atmen" fuer geplagte Manager anbieten.

  18. * Added micromod #MOD playback plugin

    * Added ibxm MOD, #S3M and #XM playback plugin

    * Added a very simple #OPL2 #VGM player

    * Added ByteArray post data in curl.DXE

    * Added MIME type for post data in curl.DXE

    * Added GetDrive() (DOS INT21, 19h) and SetDrive() (DOS21, 0Eh)

    * Added #WebP decoding/encoding

  19. I recently found github.com/martincameron/micro on GitHub.

    And guess what? #DOjS is now able to play MOD, S3M and XM files 😊

    I made two plugins, Micromod does play #MOD files only, but has only 8KiB, IBXM supports #MOD, #XM and #S3M and eats 30KiB of memory.

    All this will be part of the v1.11 release of DOjS (release date yet unknown).

  20. I have no idea when I actually produced “First Techno Attempt” as the date on the file says December 2nd 1997, which is wrong as by then I had produced a lot of songs that I would have considered to be “techno”.

    I believe I mostly completed this late in 1995 and only added the choir intro in 1996, which explains signing the song as PoC, because while I created this song originally, I still went by the handle “PCi”.

    To best fit with the chronology and development of my music abilities, I therefore date “First Techno Attempt” to November 28th 1995.

    Regarding the song’s title, please don’t mind that the song isn’t in the “techno” genre by any stretch of the imagination. To me and most of my friends back in the mid 1990’s, “techno” was just a synonym for “electronic music”.

    I remember being quite happy about this song back when I produced it, and I quite like it to this day as well.

  30. In this happy S3M produced in late January 1996, I used more chip-sounding samples again. Combined with the limit of 3 channels (just like on the C64), and sizing in at less than 9 kB, I think "Stop The Violence!" properly qualifies as a chip-tune.
