  10. Samsung releases the February 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S26 series

Samsung have released the February 2026 security patch for the majority of Galaxy users worldwide. As per their rollout schedule for security updates, Samsung have released the patch to the Galaxy S26 users, starting from the Korean version.

Two days before the global release of the flagship Galaxy S26 series, the security patch has been released as in the security update rollout schedule, and we should expect the Galaxy S26 to be updated to the March security update by the end of March as the phone series gets updated on a monthly basis.

That was because the Galaxy S26 was unveiled with the January 2026 security patch (AZAB/AZAQ).

The following firmware information is found:

To update your Galaxy to this security update, follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings, and navigate to System Update
    2. Tap on Check for Updates
    3. Press Download and Install
    4. Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Reboot Now
    5. Wait until the phone reboots successfully

Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. An update might take 5 to 10 minutes to apply, depending on the device and the type of the update being applied.

If you’re seeing “Your software is up to date,” this means that the update hasn’t reached your device yet. Keep checking for updates, as Samsung rolls it out gradually to all devices from country to country, usually starting from Korea.

  23. QuickStar for One UI 8.5 is officially available!

One UI 8.5 Beta started on December 8th. Since then, Good Lock and its modules have started playing nice with One UI 8.5 by releasing the new versions to align with One UI 8.5’s internal structure, and the forum notice informing people of the updates has been posted on the official Korean Samsung Members forums.

Initially, the post said that Home Up and QuickStar modules were limited in One UI 8.5 in its first day of the beta. However, since the Beta 2 release, we’ve seen that Good Lock modules have started receiving updates for One UI 8.5 to ensure compatibility, and one of those modules was QuickStar. Now, it has been updated globally to version v10.0.00.2 (confirmed by Alfatürk), and you can download it from either the Galaxy Store or from Good Lock:

However, the Good Lock Manager has warned users that some of the features from QuickStar have been temporarily removed from the initial release, citing that some of those features needed improvements, and that those improvements would be landed by the time that Samsung releases the official version of One UI 8.5, which will happen in the first half of the next year. One of those features was “Change the arrangement of the Quick Settings window buttons,” which got removed following this update for One UI 8.5.

We have updated our QuickStar module to this version on a One UI 8.0 device, and the “Change quick setting button grid” option is still available for us. It’s just that this option is hidden until the final stable One UI 8.5 release is out in the first half of 2026.

The Good Lock team at Samsung is working together to ensure that all Good Lock modules are updated to officially support One UI 8.5 by the stable release, which will land to the Galaxy S25 in Quarter 1, 2026.

Turn on Failed authentication lock to automatically lock the screen in case there are too many failed attempts to verify your identity using your fingerprints, PIN, pattern, or password. Identity check also protects even more settings than before.

    Turn off Auto blocker temporarily

    • If you need to temporarily disable Auto blocker’s security protection, a new option lets you turn it on automatically 30 minutes later so you don’t forget.

    Battery and power

    • See your battery use more clearly. The redesigned Battery settings screen makes it easier to check remaining time, charging status, and daily usage over the past week.

    Improved Power saving

  36. Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta 6 will be released soon!

While the beta recruitment was closed for the Galaxy S25, Samsung was working on the sixth beta of One UI 8. This suggests that further improvements are to be made before the final version of One UI 8 that will be released this September.

As spotted by a tipster, Tarun Vats, Samsung has just dropped a new beta build to the testing server of the Galaxy S25. This signifies that the sixth beta will make its way before the stable version, at which final improvements in those two versions must be made to ensure smooth experience. The testing build can be identified as ZYH9, but it may not be a final Beta 6 build.

The sixth beta version will be released to those who are beta testers of One UI 8 on their Galaxy S25. After that, the stable release should be the next update.

We advise beta testers to check for all updates to ensure that you’re using the stable version of One UI 8 on your Galaxy S25 by the end of September. The company warns that if you didn’t update to the stable version after the beta program ends, you won’t be able to update to versions released after One UI 8.

To update to One UI 8 Beta 6 on your Galaxy S25 once it gets released, follow these steps:

    1. Open Settings
    2. Navigate to System Update
    3. Tap Download and Install
    4. You should see the One UI 8 Beta 6 build and its changelogs
    5. Tap Update now
    6. Let it download, install, and verify
    7. Reboot the phone

Make sure that you have fully charged your battery before attempting to update to One UI 8 Beta 6. Never interrupt the update in any way, or issues may occur later. You’ll need to download the update via your Wi-Fi connection to avoid high mobile data fees.

  37. Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta recruitment closed!

Ahead of the September release, One UI 8 Beta recruitment for the Galaxy S25 has been finally closed. For history, One UI 8 Beta Program has officially started on May 28th for the Galaxy S25 with build ZYER. Since then, the following versions were released, all in chronological order (Korea):

    • One UI 8 Beta 2 (build ZYF3): June 12th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 3 (build ZYFA): June 30th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 4 (build ZYGB): July 30th, 2025
    • One UI 8 Beta 5 (build ZYH6): August 19th, 2025

While the whole Beta program planning is still ongoing, because the expansion is going to target more devices on September, Samsung has shut down the recruitment for One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25. This is all laid out in an official Samsung Members announcement below:

This kind of communication, as well as previous announcements for Beta 4 and Beta 5, was expected from Samsung. Therefore, One UI 8 Beta 5 for the Galaxy S25 has become the last beta version.

The stable rollout is expected to begin from the Galaxy S25, starting from Korea, and beta testers will get the update first. Beta testers are expected to update the system to the official version (can be identified with BYH? or BYI?) to be able to receive further updates.

While there is still no news about the One UI 8 Beta for watches, we should be hopeful. The rollout will be gradual, and every eligible device will be updated across more regions, starting from Korea.

While we are awaiting the stable One UI 8 rollout on September, with the fifth beta for the Galaxy S25 being scheduled for this week, the new photo watermark feature has been showcased by PhoneArt on X.

This new photo watermark comes in two styles: landscape and portrait. Below, you can see the two watermark styles, with the top being for portrait images, and the bottom being for landscape images.

As you can see, the images have a border that describes the device used, which, in this case, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also contains the date and the time the picture was taken, and a bunch of camera parameters used when taking the picture.

Currently, there is no information as to when and what devices will be eligible for this feature, other than the fact that the Galaxy S25 and the Z Fold7 will get it in the latest One UI 8 update. However, it might come to other eligible devices, like the Galaxy S24.

  43. Samsung Galaxy S25 One UI 8 Beta 5 will be available next week!

Samsung has officially announced in the Korean version of Samsung Members that they’d be releasing plans for versions after the fourth beta version has been released last week. According to Alfaturk, the below screenshot has been captured to showcase the announcement.

The above announcement is translated as below:

hello. Customers who participated in the beta,

After Beta 4, we will announce the version plan.

The 5th version is scheduled to be released, and preparations are underway with the goal of opening it next week.

We are reviewing all errors and suggestions sent by our customers, and we always appreciate your active participation.

We will respond with a more stable version based on your feedback.

We ask for your continued interest and support.

    thank you

Samsung has officially confirmed the fifth beta to be released, but didn’t announce anything about the Galaxy Watch One UI 8 Beta plans. This means that we should expect the fifth beta to drop somewhere between August 18th and 22nd, should everything go as planned.

Those who are using the Galaxy S25 Edge will have to wait until the final version becomes live in September, as the device was too new when the Beta Program was released.

Meanwhile, Samsung has already opened the One UI 8 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 and the Z Fold/Flip6 series.

  44. One UI 8 Beta 4 has the Purple Moon issue

One UI 8 Beta 4 was released on July 30th to the beta testers who are using their Galaxy S25 devices (excluding the S25 Edge) to use what would look like in the final version expected to roll out this September. As we’re getting closer to the second half of August, people began reporting a weird case that didn’t happen in both the previous One UI 8.0 beta versions and in One UI 7.0.

According to the official Samsung forums across countries like India, UK, and the USA, people began reporting that they’re trying to take moon shots at high zoom levels, such as x100, while those final pictures showed the purple moon instead of the expected white moon. The real color of the moon is white, but One UI 8.0 Beta 4 seems to save pictures with the purple moon as you can see below.

The following forum entries are posted, but not limited to:

This issue only occurs when people try to take moon shots at zoom levels, with the minimum threshold to trigger this bug is x30. This only occurs under One UI 8 Beta 4 and with moon shots taken starting from the zoom levels of x30 to x100. Additionally, the resulting moon in the pictures looks blurry, compared to their One UI 7 counterparts.

There was even a comparison between shots taken on One UI 8 and One UI 7, where the latter was more correct. Moon shots taken using One UI 7 were correct, because it showed the white moon instead of the purple moon.

As a workaround, you can try turning off the maximum optimization and trying to take moon shots at high zoom levels. You can turn off the maximum optimization by going to the camera settings, navigating to Intelligent optimization, and setting it to values other than Maximum.

We expect that Samsung fixes this issue as soon as possible, before the final version gets distributed.
