Samsung starts global rollout of One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy S25!

Starting from today, One UI 9.0 based on Android 17 is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S25 phones globally, which brings an improved experience for your Galaxy phone by introducing new features and other enhancements, including the new Galaxy AI features that first landed to the Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, and Flip8 series.

Starting from today, One UI 9.0 begins distribution to Galaxy S25 globally, with more eligible devices being expected to receive the stable update during the next few weeks. The global release for those who didn’t participate in the beta program will be released soon.

Please note that the update may not have reached your phone and/or your country yet, so you’ll have to be patient while the update reaches your device.

The following firmware information is available:

• SM-S938B: S938BXXUCDZIF
• SM-S937B: S937BXXUADZIF
• SM-S936B: S936BXXUCDZIF
• SM-S931B: S931BXXUCDZIF

To install One UI 9.0, navigate to your system settings > Software update > Check for updates > Download and install. If you still see “Your software is up to date”, your phone may not have received the update yet.

Always install the software update when the battery is charged. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems may occur later. There is no need for you to wipe your phone’s cache after the software update. Please note that the download may take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your internet connection.

[9/21] Samsung releases new One UI 9.0 Beta versions to the Galaxy A35 and A55

The One UI 9.0 beta program started for users with the expansion to a few more devices in eligible countries, including the Galaxy A35. It provided several features, such as the Masking Tape feature in Samsung Notes and the enhanced quick panel that allows you to take it to the next level in your style with even more customization options.

Starting from today, One UI 9.0 Beta 2 is now available for those who have already joined the beta program with the Galaxy A35 and the A55. The new beta version of One UI 9.0 is now available to fix some bugs and to incorporate general improvements across the whole operating system based on user feedback and internal evaluation.

One UI 9.0 Beta is available under build ZZI4 for the Galaxy A35 and ZZI4 for the Galaxy A55, which joined the beta program receiving it.

The following changes were made for the Galaxy A35 and A55:

• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Improved camera stability

We encourage you to please report all bugs found to the Beta program community so that Samsung will analyze your feedback and implement fixes and/or improvements based on them.

To update your Galaxy to the newest One UI 9.0 Beta, first make sure that you are already in the beta program. Then, follow these steps:

1. Open Settings, and navigate to System Update
2. Tap on Check for Updates
3. Press Download and Install
4. Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Reboot Now
5. Wait until the phone reboots successfully

Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. One UI 9.0 has reached the beta stage since three months ago, as previously announced by Samsung. This version of One UI 9.0 is a platform upgrade to Android 17 that introduces several improvements across areas, along with some new features.

We are very thrilled to announce that Samsung has recently opened the One UI 9.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 for the following countries:

• Korea
• United States
• United Kingdom
• Germany
• India
• Poland

This gives us a hint that the Beta Program is now open for those who are using the Galaxy S25. Users should be able to try out One UI 9.0 in its earliest shape and form on their Galaxy S25 devices, including the base model, the Plus model, and the Ultra model.

To join the Beta Program, you must have the latest version of Samsung Members installed. You can get the latest version through either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. Once done, you should be able to join the program if you have an eligible device.

Earlier, Samsung has rolled out the Galaxy S25 update earlier this month, which brings the June 2026 security patch.

Last week, according to the firmware documentation site for the Indonesian version of the Galaxy S25, the second June 2026 security patch has been released, which fixes further security-related issues, as per the changelogs.

This security patch has a size of almost 541.37 MB, depending on the phone, and they bring the June 5th, 2026 security patch that you can see in the update info. This contains all fixes to vulnerabilities discovered since the last security patch released for these phones.

We are not aware of any other countries other than Indonesia receiving this security update at this time.

My visit to Battersea Power Station development and the Ramesses II exhibition.
The Power Station is an interesting redevelopment of obsolete industrial complex into high-end shopping destination.
But I really went there to see the king.
The Ramesses exhibition was sparsely attended but I found it informative and entertaining. A virtual reality tour is available as an option and is worth the small additional charge.

One UI 8.5 Beta 10 is out [Galaxy S25]!

One UI 8.5 has made a significant appearance, with new features and other improvements. Samsung has first unveiled One UI 8.5 on December 8th, 2025, when it was available as a beta for the Galaxy S25 series users who are living in the following countries:

• Korea
• United States of America
• United Kingdom
• India
• Poland
• Germany

During the beta program, several beta versions were released and the Galaxy S26 with One UI 8.5 was unveiled. Since then, the beta program has been expanded and the first two middle-ranger devices, which are the Galaxy A57 and A37 phones, have been released with One UI 8.5 out of the box for people who are unable to afford the premium series.

This beta version of One UI 8.5 is going to be the end of the One UI 8.5 Beta chapter, and the stable rollout of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 in Korea is expected to begin at the end of this month, with May being the stable rollout month for the rest of the countries, including USA, India, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

We are very thrilled to announce that Samsung has released the tenth beta version of One UI 8.5 (build ZZDD) that has the following changes:

• New features added
  • Added new AI features
• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Fixed an issue where the incoming call screen appears late or shows a black screen when receiving a call
  • Fixed a proximity sensor error during calls
  • Fixed an issue where green lines appear when recording videos in 4K HDR with the camera in certain 3rd party apps
  • Improved Bluetooth crash issues
  • Improved multi-touch malfunction after using accessibility magnification
• Many other improvements

Prior to this beta version, we had the following beta versions for the Galaxy S25 series (dates are for the Korean model, SM-S938N):

1. Open the Settings app
2. Navigate to Software update
3. Tap on Download and Install
4. You should be able to see the update information.
5. Click on Install now, let it download and install, and click on Reboot. Make sure that you download the update through Wi-Fi.

This security update should take 5 to 10 minutes maximum to install once your phone reboots. Make sure that you have the phone charged fully before initiating the update process to avoid interruptions. Back up your data to your PC, the cloud, or any other device in case the update went wrong. Don’t interrupt the update process, or you’ll experience problems later.

One UI 8.5 Beta 9 is out [Galaxy S25]!

One UI 8.5 has made a significant appearance, with new features and other improvements. We are very thrilled to announce that Samsung has released the ninth beta version of One UI 8.5 (build ZZD5) that has the following changes:

• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Support for AirDrop connection with Apple devices
  • Applied 3 new camera filters (Classic Film, Pop Film, Blanc)
  • Improved issue where Bluetooth connection disconnects and reconnects periodically
  • Improved issue where the top part of the notification card was cut off
  • Improved issue where the screen flickers and colors are distorted when changing zoom level during dual recording
  • Improved stuttering issue when entering gallery albums under certain conditions
  • Improved issue where AOD time information was displayed incorrectly in certain situations
  • Improved notification card Ul when the device is rotated
  • Improved issue where the lock screen briefly appeared during an incoming call before transitioning to the call screen
• Many other improvements

To join the Beta Program, you must have the latest version of Samsung Members installed. You can get the latest version through either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. One UI 8.5 Beta 2 is out [Galaxy Z Fold/Flip7]!

One UI 8.5 has made a significant appearance, with new features and other improvements. We are very thrilled to announce that Samsung has released the second beta version of One UI 8.5 (build ZZCD) that has the following changes:

• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Improved readability issue of “now brief” on the cover screen
  • Fixed the issue where Concert Hall mode in Sound Assistant feature is not applied when using Buds3 Pro
  • Fixed the issue where the bottom part of the style is cut off when selecting after enlarging the clock in the lock screen background editor
  • Improved the issue where specific folders cannot be copied when connecting storage sharing betweer Galaxy Book4 and device
  • Fixed the issue where Concert Hall mode in Sound Assistant feature is not applied when using Buds3 Pro
  • Fixed the issue where shooting time is not displayed during Selfie Video Show Palm operation
• Many other improvements

• Bugs that have been fixed
  • Providing a new story type in the gallery (monthly, quarterly/annual rewind)
  • Improved camera quick view thumbnail breakage issue when cloud-exclusive videos are the latest
  • Fixed the issue where setting value does not be initialized when the original was restored after changing the save resolution in Studio
  • Fixed an error where the original was not restored to the initial value after changing the save resolution in Studio
  • Improved flickering when updating real-time notification cards
  • Improved the issue where the bubble notification badge does not disappear after checking the received bubble notification
  • Fixed an error where the clock shortcut disappears when the screen turns off while running Now Brief
  • Improved the error where the date is displayed incorrectly when saving after editing a video with metadata errors
  • Improved the error where scrolling captures in Naver Map are broken or do not capture
  • Improved the issue where certain folders cannot be copied when connecting to share storage with Galaxy Book4
• Many other improvements

This beta version of One UI 8.5 may not be the last one, since the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip7 beta for One UI 8.5 didn’t start yet.
