DB cancelled all trains between Berlin and Warsaw today, including #EC45 which was supposed to run from Frankfurt (Oder). No official reason; PKP staff says lack of overline power.
The EC45 proceeds on time under #EIC45 / #IC71009 flag from #Rzepin.
We got there by taxi from #Słubice after walking across the border. I convinced a group of people not to wait for the hypothetical replacement buses from DB. It is not clear whether any other train will make it to Poznań from Rzepin today.

Die Länder Berlin und #Brandenburg, die #Woiwodschaft #Lubuskie und der Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (#VBB) sehen einen #Ausbau der Bahnstrecke Berlin – #Kostrzyn – #Gorzów Wielkopolski – Krzyż („#Ostbahn“/ Eisenbahnstrecke Nr. 203) als dringend erforderlich an. Aus diesem Grund haben alle vier Partner nun ein #Positionspapier zum zukunftsfesten Ausbau der Strecke unterzeichnet.
Aus Sicht der Länder Berlin und Brandenburg, der Woiwodschaft Lubuskie sowie des VBB ist der derzeitige #Infrastrukturzustand der bislang nicht elektrifizierten, auf deutscher Seite abschnittsweise noch eingleisigen Strecke Berlin – Kostrzyn – Gorzów Wielkopolski – Krzyż nicht ausreichend, um den künftigen Anforderungen für ein bedarfsgerechtes und zukunftsfähiges #Verkehrsangebot gerecht zu werden. Die Strecke soll daher im Zielzustand durchgehend #zweigleisig, #elektrifiziert, für 160km/h und für 740m lange Güterzüge ausgebaut sein.
