Yesterday I went back to Minoh Park with Anna to visit the Minoh Falls, Ryuan-ji & also the Minoh Park Insectarium.
As a lot of local people were staring at the river at one point, I tried to get a glimps too!
The locals pointed me to a japanese giant salamander and I learned a new word:
Sanshōuo - the japanese word for this creature. The uo at the end is important (meaning fish) because if you just say sansho it will mean japanese pepper :)

Ryuanji in Minoo Park styles itself the oldest temple in Japan dedicated to Benzaiten, the goddess of knowledge, beauty and the arts. Benzaiten is associated with water, and her temples are often located near a pond, lake or the sea.
A real wonderful, silent little gem with some Japanese macaques :)
You see barely any tourists there!
