So begins my last working week of 2023.

And it's a short week too, because our president declared Friday 15 December a public holiday to celebrate our #RWC2023 win.

Here's hoping it's not too hectic.

ICYMI, #SouthAfrica's president Cyril Ramaphosa spoke to the nation last night, and amongst other things, declared Friday 15 December 2023 as a #PublicHoliday.

Ostensibly it's to celebrate the Springbok's victory over New Zealand in the #RWC2023, and an anticipated South African victory in the #CWC2023 too. ;-)

The reason he's postponing it for so long is because he doesn't want to disrupt the Matric exams. Which is understandable, if you ask me.

But also, I think, it's because the 16th of December, which is a regular public holiday here, falls on a Saturday this year, and the unions have been grumbling that they basically miss out because there's no carry-over for Saturday public holidays (Sunday ones carry over to the following Monday, but Saturday ones do not).
