That can be a bit problematic, since it seems most rust-preventing paints for metal contain #PFAS (I'm looking into alternatives. #LinseedOil paint might be good for metal). Mineral spirits and paraffin wax are another way to rust-proof metal, but both are #petroleum products. #Limonene and #beeswax might be a petroleum-free way to #RustProof metal, but I haven't tried it yet (though I have both on hand). Feel free to chime in with suggestions!

My mom decided I didn't want it anymore (???) and threw it in the drainage ditch across from her house (!!!) where I had to fish it out all rusted.

Trying to de-rust a motorcycle centre stand to prepare for paint. Can only get so far with a wire brush, can't get into the nooks and crannies. So trying electrolysis using a battery charger for power source, and see how that works out.
