  1. Sarah Paine on russian colonialism:

"Russia has posed an existential threat to its neighbors forever. There are so many neighbors you have never heard of because they've disappeared from the pages of history, courtesy of the Russians."

  2. My Black Sea, mined, polluted, tortured. Home to over two thousand species, despite having no oxygen on the bottom of it. The excitement of seeing dolphins play near the shore, diving for rapa shells, now memories of the past.

In their colonial conquest, russians burn, kill and demolish everything. Then repopulate the ashes with their own that are willing to bark for a bag of buckwheat.

  3. Why do some young people in the West romanticize communism? How did Russian President Vladimir Putin manage to sell the idea of retaining the imperialist regime to the Russian people? And why do so many Russian dissidents resist discussions about the decolonization of Russia? #russiancolonialism

  4. Anybody who thinks #russianColonialism wasn’t/isn’t built on the idea of ethnic supremacy obviously hasn’t heard a single Soviet-era joke. The punchline usually was that ‘chukchas’ (an ethnic group indigenous to #Siberia) are stupid as fuck. That’s literally like 90% of the jokes.

  5. In this video I'm briefly explaining a secret amendments passed by the #georgian #government within the new "Foreign Agents Law". This law lets Ministry of Justice to investigate any individual in the country and demand any kind of information from them, including personal life.

  6. "The opposition denounces it as “the Russian law” because Moscow uses similar legislation to stigmatize independent news media and organizations critical of the Kremlin. Opposition lawmakers have accused the governing party of trying to drag Georgia into Russia's sphere of influence."

The law was passed despite the huge protests, which continue as of now.

  7. sunflower seeds - I think it is important to fight fascism & authoritarianism before it can take root, because it is so cruel, total and cost so much life, after it is installed and has grip on majority, it is often too late, I support Ukrainian defenders 🕯️

  8. What do you think a citizen of #Russia looks like?

These peoples, or what is left of them, were colonized and made "Russian" by war, deception and genocide:

#Ukraine is fighting a war to not share their fate.

  9. I'd say that despite popular #woke beliefs, most of the so-called "#Russians" do, in fact, have control of their national identity. Their parents or grandparents, who were #Tatar, Mordvin, Chuvash, and so on, decided to improve their status and became #Russian. Now if they return to their roots, and become Tatar or #Yakut or #Bashkir #artists, then we can discuss their acceptance in art communities. But staying "Russian" means they still support #imperialism & #RussianColonialism 😬

  10. One impetus for this article was seeing a strange spike in Holodomor denialism on Reddit around the 90th anniversary at the end of November. Obviously I couldn't really use random anonymous Reddit posts as evidence of anything for this article, but another focusing more broadly on disinformation on Reddit will be out soon.

    "in your events

you will also notice the same questions

    that one about russophobia

    that one about cancelling Pushkin

you will wonder why people think these are most pressing questions

when every day you wake up to news about death, death, death

    gradually you will also notice

that for your criticism of academic complicity

you will be framed as hysterical"

  12. The coming fall of #russianColonialism
    youtube.com/watch?v=pAYkcYx921

    > #Muscovite was a society where most people lived as slaves for centuries and with the #SovietUnion the state provided the stability that they lost with abolishing of slavery

    > In the Soviet Union there were 2 dominated powers - the Leningrad and the Ukrainian factions. As #Ukraine gained independence, KGB man from Leningrad (Putin) got on top

    > If you look at inner circle of #Putin or the people he gives important government positions to own old soviet massive companies, the are just random friends from his own town.. ..russia is a such low trust society that Putin only trust people who are completely relying on him

    > Muscovite is a society that has the most trauma ever from a combination of slavery, the communists, the world wars*. PTSD breaks up people's senses of time, the world seems chopped up into discreet pieces that can't be put together. Leftovers of russian empire is a series of discorded pieces that don't really know how to fit together**

*In fact, Muscovite turned their trauma into their traditional value. According to #Dostoevsky suffering and sacrificing is the only true way to achieve imperial Greatness. Kind of walking in circles

**For example major russian state propagandists are Jews, same time people of russian colony of #Dagestan are into performing Pogroms

    > The ruling ideology in russia is now a cynicism, but that doesn't work for a long term. It's a society stuck in time, incapable of seeing it's place in future or history. Muscovite is one of the weakest and fragile societies in the world on the cultural basis

    > #Goodrussians used to declare that if they can remove Putin, they could make russian empire a pure plutocracy like in Ukraine, however goodrussians managed to ignore how Putin restrains mob from killing them

Considering all mentioned above, adding that all the imperial rebel youth is getting military training in Ukraine, and that #Kremlin is running out of reserves to pay them, this is doomed to explode

  15. THANK YOU @apstylebook — this is a massively important move and I hope everyone still using this outdated and offensive lens takes note

  16. "The Russian Federation invested a lot of money in raising children like us from the 'former Soviet republics' as Russians. They probably invested more in us than they did in the education of children in rural Russia ... Hopefully, I will have turned out to be one of the worst investments the Russian Federation ever made" – the late Victoria Amelina
