We did our garbage run. ATV with farm cart hauling wheeled garbage and recycle pail containers 2 miles on gravel to the "curb." Pups riding in a milk crate fastened to the front rack. 15 gallon weed sprayer on the back rack. A pair of cherry lugs fastened to the front rack for various equipment I use when working in the yard. I passed two neighbors coming back from the same chore. I do a garbage run every 2 weeks when I'm home. This is the first in about 6 weeks. #chores #RuralLiving

8 years ago, today, I was living in #CedarBC - just outside of Nanaimo, on a farm. Raider was a horse who boarded at the farm & we became friends while I lived there. Raider was the only #horse at the farm & his #farm animal friends were cows. Raider had a weird fetish for large breasted women & I'd have to warn visiting friends about how the horse will try to motorboat their breasts if he finds opportunities to do it.

🤔 There are disadvantages of living in a rural area however there are significant advantages.
Example:
Checking my email I discovered my and my husband's new glasses are ready for pick up. However, since they know my hubby is mobility challenged, and we no longer drive, they offered to deliver them to our home free of charge.
You won't see thoughtfulness like that too often in city.
I wonder if the fact they are an all female team might be a factor as well. -

DHMC is accepting new patients...in theory. They have no intake appointments available in the next 90 days, even in locations we'd have to drive two hours to get to.
$300 for the two of us to have regular care and be able to be seen on short notice feels like a godsend, even if it's fucking Amazon. 😭
