My recent #roadtrip through #rural #Ontario was done with a few ideas in mind, but #abandonedhomes and #ruraldecay are always what I'm after.
The #travelphotography I perform doesn't offer me a lot of opportunity to talk with locals, so I can't be certain of their local history, their story. Maybe something for another day.

The #roads best taken in #Ontario are those you know end up with a #NoExit sign indicating you should turn around.
Finding so many #rural #abandonedhomes through Bruce and Huron counties definitely starts to paint signs of destitution and poverty, and so I try and capture the #loneliness as I travel and try to give it a little life.

Often referred to as the lighthouse of Lake Mattamuskeet, the property is on the National Historical Register. Today the property is owned by the state of North Carolina and there has been a stalled effort to restore the facility back into a lodge.
