That lawsuit that five leading Proud Boys filed against the US Gov last week? The one where they're asking for, I believe, $1 million each for their alleged mistreatment after they participated in Jan. 6?
It turns out they hired domestic abuser, self-declared demi-god, and goat-blood drinker Augustus Sol Invictus as their lawyer.
No, I couldn't believe it either.
But wait! There's more!
The judge in the case has ordered that Mr. Sol Invictus show written proof that he hasn't been suspended from the bar in Florida's Middle District. Apparently that bar has a rule requiring attorneys to report if/when they've been convicted of a felony, which -- I guess I'm going to start calling him "A-Sol" because it kind of sounds like "asshole" -- A-Sol failed to do after he was convicted in January: a court in Virginia found him guilty of using fire as a means of intimidation due to his participation in the Unite the Right tiki-torch march. He was supposed to report it to the bar, but didn't. As a result, he will most likely not be allowed to try this case, the fucking idjit.
To be fair, though, I think he's got a couple of restraining orders against him and various other legal woes of his own. He must've just gotten distracted or something.
So yeah. Law and order. Cool story, bruh.

A very good thread from David Neiwert on the career in Proud Boy chuddery of Ethan Nordean, aka "Rufio Panman". Nordean is currently serving a lengthy federal sentence on a Jan. 6-related conspiracy charge, but will almost certainly be pardoned not too long after Jan. 20.

one thing that is irritating is national pundits (liberal & right wing) treating #EthanNordean's alleged prowess as a "skilled brawler" as if it were factual.
one lucky, wide-ass haymaker meme-punch in a chaotic situation isn't much of an indicator of fighting aptitude. spectacle is powerful, but #RufioPanman is a silverspoon alt-right dipshit with enough allowance money to huff bespoke protein powder & cultivate gym-muscles for most hours of the week.
