Work from home is part of making work accessible. Lots of people need to be able to work off-site in order to deal with various disabilities, medical conditions, and pregnancy. RTO is ableist.
This case was a wrongful death case, which likely had a better chance of succeeding in the current US judicial system than anything based on medical need.

Taking a moment to review the Zoom app settings after a new update. So much AI clutter now. Not just transcription and summary, but generation of post-meeting docs and slide decks. The "meeting coach" feels very much like it would lead to a verbal equivalent of AI writing: that there's a "right" way of speaking or presenting (timing, metrics), shorn of deliberate speaker nuance and acceptable social grease. If you must optimize engagement, maybe cancel your meetings.

"federally regulated employees whose job functions are primarily computer-based shall have the right to perform their work remotely for a minimum of three (3) days per week, unless their role is in emergency, medical, caregiving, or other functions where physical presence is demonstrably essential;"
