Unfortunately, the executives who insist on having people in the office are narcissists. Being a narcissist means having no conscience, being sadistic, and having a need to dominate. Narcissists don't want disabled people around because they make them feel icky.

Why do we tolerate such levels of brutalisation perhaps not just with disabled workers but also with care-givers/-takers? It beats me, frankly 😢

@collective_truth That's one of the several reasons why *certain* people are terrified with regards to #DistanceWorking and why 6 years later since the harsh lock-downs of the pandemic it's almost disappeared from everyone's radar with the implementation of the silly #RTO mandates.

Work from home is part of making work accessible. Lots of people need to be able to work off-site in order to deal with various disabilities, medical conditions, and pregnancy. RTO is ableist.
This case was a wrongful death case, which likely had a better chance of succeeding in the current US judicial system than anything based on medical need.
"An Ohio-based company that denied a mom's request to work from home during a high-risk pregnancy has been found liable for the newborn's death and ordered to pay $22.5 million in damages. NBC News' Misty Marris has more on the decision."
