I don't think this is expressly called out in the #YearZeroEngine rules, but in #Vaesen when I have players aid each other and offer up a die to the challenge, I have each helper roll their own die instead of just offering up their dice to be rolled by the spotlight character.
I think it fosters more investment from the group and it's worked out really well so far.
