And here am I hoping that HBO will lose their shirts as more people do not with to make #Rowling even richer. Several years ago, the kids decided that selling a copy of her first book - a not too battered first edition(acquired years ago) was the correct choice - and donated the money to a #trans supporting charity. They hoped she would appreciate the gesture…..

Итак, давайте проясним, что означают двойные стандарты, потому что в моих глазах это выглядит так:
В Mastodon абсолютно нормально продвигать идеи о том, как посмотреть грядущий сериал по «Гарри Поттеру» таким образом, чтобы не поддержать автора, то есть Роулинг. Конкретно расписаны шаги -- что нужно сделать, чтобы она не получила из-за тебя ни копейки денег. Всё это потому, что Роулинг довольно сильно трансфобна, не боится об этом говорить, и из-за этого многие её не любят.
В то же время, в том же самом Mastodon запрещено высказывать противоположное мнение; то есть говорить о том, что её можно спокойно поддерживать, или что есть те, кто разделяет её взгляды. Да или то, что нам всё равно, что думает автор, главное то, чтобы сериал получился хорошо.
Я своими глазами видела происходящее.
В таком двуличном мире мы живём, братья и сестры мои... -

Transphobia and aphobia have gone hand-in-hand for a long time now, and ace exclusionism is often the first step down the #TERF pipeline (because if you can convince people to exclude one type of #queer person, it's easier to convince them to exclude another).

Respekt für Emma #Watson. Mich bedrückt es immer noch, dass J.K. #Rowling - die Autorin von #HarryPotter - einen feindseligen, transfeindlichen #Dualismus vertritt. Aus meiner Sicht hat die #Menschenwürde (GG) bzw. #Ebenbildlichkeit (Bibel) für jeden Menschen zu gelten. Auch #Queerfeindlichkeit ist #Hass gegen #Menschen. Es gibt keine Menschenwürde 2. Klasse. The screenshot is a post by a friend, who prefers to remain anonymous, from several years ago. It's horribly relevant again, for obvious reasons.
I'd prefer to know, on the whole. Particularly when the artist in question is still alive: I may (or may not) still be able to enjoy their art that I already have, but I want to know whose pockets to avoid lining. Once they're dead, "separate the art from the artist" becomes a lot easier for me.
Of course I'd far rather there were nothing *to* know. I wish with all my heart that Edgar Rice #Burroughs and HP #Lovecraft were not raging racists, that Marion Zimmer #Bradley were not at the very least an enabler of child molestation and perhaps† a molester herself, that Joss #Whedon were a feminist in deed as well as word, that JK #Rowling believed the messages about equality and inclusion she gave a whole generation of children and their parents, that Neil #Gaiman were a kind and decent person who created mythologies to tell thoughtful stories about the human condition. But since they are what they are and were what they were, that's not an option.
There are writers I still regard as role models *as writers* even if I don't care for them much as people. Not monsters, for the most part, just garden-variety jerks. The way they put words together speaks to me, as I want my words to speak to my readers. I'm not in a hurry to give up what they've taught me by example.
Still. I don't have a whole lot of money to spend, and I'd rather that what I do have go to people I don't despise. Knowing is almost always better.

It's obvious, given #Rowling's penchant for naming characters with ham-fisted puns, that she intended "Sirona Ryan" as a cryptic, backhanded way to #misgender a trans woman (first, for Sirona sounding like "sir", second for the surname sounding like a man's name).
This is an extremely cynical way to troll the trans-rights boycott of her video game. I'm sure we'll never hear the end of people claiming Rowling and #HogwartsLegacy are really inclusive now, since they "even have a trans character"
