My son and I had a walk round #Rottingdean and Saltdean this afternoon. Rottingdean is so historically fascinating that he quite happily put up with me photographing everything, including two plaques that I’d never come across before. I spoke to the lovely owners, wanting to know if they knew who Anona Winn was and they’d researched the entire history of their house. She’d heard that ‘anoraky’ people bag plaques and I murmured that it was too hot for my anorak today. #plaques

I went looking for fulmars down at #Rottingdean cliffs yesterday. Plenty in evidence but the highlight was spotting a pair of #peregrine falcons roosting on the cliff face. Looks like it's a breeding pair, which is excellent news. #BirdsOfMastodon #Birds #Brighton #photography #nature #wildlife

Lovely afternoon in #Eastbourne at the Maker Studio, learning lino cutting. I was very happy with how my #Rottingdean #windmill design turned out! #art #crafts

We're lucky to have a breeding colony of fulmars at our local cliffs in Rottingdean. These wonderful sea birds are petrels and related to the albatross. They resemble gulls, but have stiff wings and tube-noses. They also cackle rather than squawk! Here's a couple of photos I took today when I had a spare half hour with the camera. #fulmar #seabird #Rottingdean #nature #wildlife #BirdsOfMastodon
