The last gasp of sunset as katabatic storm clouds plummet off the Antarctic continent.
Within half an hour Ross Island was completely enveloped in a maelstrom of wind and snow.
This storm heralded the start of Autumn and brought an end to an incredible weather window which we used to explore McMurdo Sound. Time to escape from the clutches of the freezing sea.
