To ensure usability over time, consider adding some organic matter while tilling the surface of your clay-like soil. Introduction of multiple size particles will help with more diverse pore diameter, and improve the flow of fluids and nutrients.

In this example with @lillieeatssouls (Part 3 of 4) we are using jute rope as some additional organic material for providing some much needed nourishment to the initial batch of sprouts.

When transplanting sprouts from your nursery, I recommend staying near the areas where you have already added the extra material. This is to ensure access to nutrients, and gives the soil purpose via incorporating it structurally.

It's well known how one is meant to use the darkness of a new moon to seed their intentions. When appropriately nourished, and maintained, the results may be harvested during subsequent full moons. It is still important to find a patch of soil in the aether that will be a good fit for your seeds.

You might already be familiar with some potential areas (https://lgbtqia.space/@h3mmy/114587038876051028) and subsequent blooms in #ContemplatingPupation but I would recommend being prepared for more scenarios as well. Here's an example of something to keep in mind if you find a great location, but certain soil qualities appear to be... lacking.

If you squeeze some soil in your hand and it forms a ribbon without breaking, you are likely dealing with a clay that is too wet. Yes, it's very moldable, easy to shape, etc. This is a good quality sometimes, like when you want a pliable plaything that can withstand all sorts of twisted pressure.

However, clay tends to have some issues with water flow. It is harder for water and nutrients to move through clay with its tiny pores. To make this impressionable soil actually useful for growth purposes, we'll need to make it crumble.

First, we need to ensure that it's not too wet. If it forms that elastic ribbon, then it's too wet, too pliable, and will just leave you with a sopping mess. If it falls apart under pressure, then it is something we can enrich, and reconstruct.

There are several ways to accomplish this goal, and it's best to experiment to find out which one works best for the soil you have. Sometimes simply exposing it to heat and maybe roughing up the surface is enough. Other times you might need to add some suction.

The brisk smell of a big lake is rather complex. Musky smells of nature in summer, blended with the hints of pine, blooming lilacs, sun-baked sand and driftwood, it can be oh so intoxicating and refreshing. It changes depending on the lake, the season, and what exactly you're up to. Summertime smells are very toasty. You can almost taste the minerals in the air with how intense the sun can be.

The days are long, and full of unrelenting sunshine. For aquatic creatures, this can mean returning to deeper water to cool off. For occasionally aquatic creatures, it may mean hopping up on a shaded platform to enjoy a nice cool breeze.

This tie was done pretty close to the summer solstice. There is an air-conditioning unit to the left of the frame. It's a pretty cozy variant of a mermaid tie. There is also the option of including an armbinder, or otherwise anchoring the wrists to form a cozy hogtie for any wild creatures one may encounter. I may post examples of those in the coming weeks.

Sometimes when it snows, and it's cold enough, the snow is fresh and soft, and while it's terrible for making any snow sculptures, it does something magical. It quiets the sounds all around, and makes everything so much quieter. Some find it serene, and tranquil; a precious opportunity to focus.

Some find it eerie, and the silence fosters a primordial terror not so different to walking upstairs from a dark basement, feeling the hair on the back of your neck quirk up, fighting an urge to sprint the remainder of the distance between you and perceived safety beyond that door left slightly ajar.

What if that door isn't even the same door? What if it's a door you've never seen before? Only appearing in the corner of your eye. The fact that its appearance coincided with your visceral fears is probably something to think about later, once you have reached safety, right?

A shadow of doubt creeps across your brain like a skitter. What if you are simply bound somewhere, you think with a shiver. And the haze was simply some sort of spiderweb. And now you are swaddled like prey, intoxicated by the sweet kiss of your own demise, and experiencing the interstitial space in between.

It is a derealizing thought, and this entity seems to be aware that you are having it. They quietly wait for you to think through it yourself. They've already told you how to leave, but if this is a liminal space on death's doorstep, would you be in a hurry to leave? You don't know what awaits you out there. In here it would be only a little death, as a treat. There is no way to actually know if a bigger one awaits outside. They don't offer you any answers, but do offer to cage up their knockers to avoid any "knocking on death's doorstep, as you say." their words end with a sort of giggle.

True to their word so far, red ropes grow out of somewhere out of view behind them. You blink away a haze over your vision and then just take a moment to study what you see... Continued in the #AltText

The air smells sweeter somehow. You're posture is better with your wrists tied back this way. Maybe you should try it more often. While you were coalescing from this novel experience, the foxxo by the wall, expresses a need for water. Did you know that you're supposed to water foxxos more frequently than plants? It's true!

The keeper simply provides a water bottle, still capped. They express a playful confidence that between the pup and the foxxo, they can figure out how to open it. Unlike the last time, the pup can only use one hand at a time. She might have asked you for help, but the predicament wasn't clear until it was right in front of the foxxo. This has the same energy as a pup enthusiastically fetching a stick through a door that is too narrow.

They both pause for a moment, eyeing the bottle tentatively, considering the problem. The attempt is documented in Part 5.

So, this is actually just a preview for some #AltAfterDark posts (with much better angles imo) in my queue. These will be in addition to the remainder of the last guest enrichment sequence I left off on.

I try to test some harnesses on myself before rope bottoms. Obviously, it's impractical to do this depending on the tie, but it's good to understand the different quirks.

This is a _sloppy_ execution. In my defense, horizontal dominant torso ties are really tricky to get right as a self tie, especially the first time. This is because it's nearly impossible to keep the correct tension during the tie given all the twisting and contorting involved. But, here it is!

My nipples are _very_ sensitive at baseline. If the wind hits them weird I might squeak and need to shield them. I waited until the tie was complete to actually arrange them on the nips to minimize the time. I think I overloaded my nerve circuits because not only did I taste the echo of the body wide sensations for hours afterwards, but I can literally conjure up a vivid memory looking at this photo. :neobot_sign_help:
