I played two Root RPG quickstarts with people who work as civil servants in towns. And the problems that a clearing has, are on the same level as towns have. It really triggered something in them, and it seemed cathartic for them to be able to act as total outsiders, set things Right (for whatever definition of 'Right') and then leave again without having to worry you'd ever have to work with these NPCs again. 1/

The Root TTRPG lacks two things that are part of a vagabond's life: exploring ruins, and battles. Last session, I had a lot of fun DMing a ruin exploration (see https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@Yakkafo/112028378998868772). For this session, it was time to play a battle. Just ran #RootRPG in person for the first time. No prep, used the Hacksaw Dell quick start from Free RPG Day. It went really well and it was fun to see all the roguish feats in action.

Back from #GenCon ! My first convention experience ever. It was a blast! Played #TrailOfCthulu , #RootRPG , #AvatarLegendsRPG , and had maybe the most fun I can remember in a #TTRPG with #NightsBlackAgents

I really like the rules light system and how the system makes me and my players flex our yes and muscles. -

Ran session 6 of a #RootRPG today. It went super well. Somehow my players have turned into a sort of touring band and charmed a bunch of (potentially cannibal) pine martens into sharing food, then persuaded the Lord of the Mountain to come to their aid via the medium of a musical number. The Marquisate ain't gonna know what hit 'em.
