The #OaklandRoots soccer team is playing at the Oakland Coliseum tonight.
That rusting decaying pile of concrete is where I truly learned to love sports. My #baseball team is gone from there now (asshole team owner John Fisher wanted more $$), but it's lovely to see the stadium in use.
That "Let's Go Oakland" chant ringing in the stands is making me feel things, let me tell you.

I didn't only go to the big deal #Baseball games though.
Some other highlights include so many games with friends, hanging out and having fun.
I remember one game where I taught a little girl in the row in front of us how to do a high five, when she wasn't that into the baseball game. I hope her family forgave us for that!
I remember a bunch of games where I chatted with the fans around us, enjoying the deeper discussions and the camaraderie.
I remember the days when #RootedInOakland was a joyous commitment. Now it's all going away, all that loyalty and energy, due to the greed of the owner.
I guess I'm a #Giants fan now.

My bride has headed out for the evening, so this Bay Area boy made an S.F. classic just for himself: Joe's Special, with ketchup (the only time catch up is allowable on eggs) and a little habanero hot sauce for the juicy, fruity flavor. (And a split-base martini, which goes perfectly with it.) #RootedInOakland

I've sat with this for a while, and I've realized that I'm going to need to make a final pilgrimage to the Coliseum at some point. I need to say goodbye to that team in that place.

I found out today that yesterday was the last ever A’s game I will attend because they’re officially going to #vegas.
Utterly disgraceful — from #MLB brass down to Fisher and his goon Kaval. We all saw this coming from a mile away anyhow — #RootedInOakland was such bullshit. And yet I am still sad and angry.
The Coliseum was not pretty but it had personality. The tickets were #affordable and it has divey character. It had #publictransit to get fans there without a car. More diversity than I've seen at most other ballparks.
Farewell to the last dive bar in the MLB.
