  1. @rartsy of course when I'm early to the airport that's when my flight is delayed 1h 20m! 🙃

I had time to buy tacos and they let me try pozol. I can't see myself ever really wanting it, seems like a childhood comfort thing. & since it's not from my childhood it's not my comfort. I discovered that I did like the tacos accompaniment of white peppers in lemon. My lips are burning but it's good.

  2. Unbeknownst to me this coatí is already on a mission. Once I realize where it's headed the video becomes unstable as I gather my things & leap away.

  3. I'm using @rartsy as my travel diary. I looked into Pixelfed and vernissage & my own embedded galleries—I liked gotosocial best. I'm still embedding the RSS feed onto my site but I only know how to display stubs. I like having my own site for referring others to: Romex.rartsy.com

It's a bit convoluted but at least I'm not using any mainstream commercial site. (And because of that my normie friends won't see any of it! 🙄)

  4. 24 hours from now I'll be landing in Mexico for > 90 days!

It's slightly nerve wracking that my plans have no official sanction as yet. USians obtain tourist visas upon landing that *may be* granted for up to 6 months. The info always stresses that it's at the discretion of the agent. 😬 It's an invitation for my mind to go into devil's advocate mode. Possible strike against me is that I'm hopping one-way flights all over. I'll have Airbnb addresses & exit flight info ready.

  5. romex.rartsy.com • a site I'm working on as a central spot for sharing my adventures in Mexico. Not much there yet as I'm not there yet.

  6. Eye contact photo
I'm making a point of posting happy stuff every day like art or Mexico info. Here I'm in a courtyard at my favorite coffee shop breakfast spot near my hotel in Merida, Yucatán.

I use custom hashtags for future reference:

  7. Free concert I attended in Merida in December. I don't attend many such things here in the US & I plan to do it a lot in Mexico. Why? Because here I have to drive, experience all the misery & ugliness of the roads & people on them, (possibly pay to) park in a giant parking lot, & more times than not find myself at an under-attended, under-funded, sad event. YMMV.
In Merida, Yucatán, Mexico, I walked pleasant streets to a modern palace of music, mingled with a happy & engaged crowd, etc.

  8. Every day I reserve some time for dreaming of a new life. Today I'm very happy to have found a site that lists numerous special events & festivals throughout Mexico, by month:
