Roman Villa excavations in a field nearby (packs of students busy here all summer)
I'm constantly surprised at *how many* Roman buildings there are around here. Still a remote, sparsely populated mountain 2000 yrs later.
Maybe Romans wanted to retire up here, like my parents did?
Or are these their summer houses? (All the city people flee up here in August, to escape from Temperature)
