  1. Orlando WARNING: Orange County Sheriff's department "Special Event Zone" targets attendees of Rolling Loud hip-hop festival

Anyone either attending the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival at Camping World Stadium or just passing through the area in Orlando is risking their car being stolen by cops for up to three days by simply driving through the area.

    The affected roads are:
*Colonial Drive (rt 50) from Tampa Avenue to Hiawassee Road

*John Young Parkway from SR 408 to WD Judge Road

*Old Winter Garden Road from John Young Parkway to Ferguson Drive

If attending the festival, consider parking somewhere else and taking any available bus or biking into the area to protect your car from cops.

Florida has a law of dubious constitutionality allowing county sheriffs to unilaterally impose a "special event zone" on roads near certain public events not requiring permits or otherwise unpermitted.

This doubles traffic fines and allows cops to impound cars for ANY traffic offense for up to 72 hours. Since a cop can ticket ANY driver simply by following them and trying to rattle them into making a mistake, tnis allows for essentially arbitrary car impoundment (THEFT) by cops. You can bet cops will attempt to steal cars from Black drivers near any hip hop show when given a license to do so.

The FL law in question has been called out as a First Amendment violation, but to do anything about it would require someone to commit to years of court hearings, more in legal fees than the cost of buying a new car, and a probable defeat in Trump's stacked SCOTUS in the end.

It also allows the sheriff's department in question to attempt to recover costs from event organizers. Hopefully the organizers of Rolling Loud will refuse to pay the racist Orange County Sheriff's Department for harassing and threatening their patrons.
