Tried to talk myself out of it at the last minute but I went for a skate after work today. Got some nice reactions from folks driving by, an air high five and a thumbs up. I'm glad I got back out on the road in the sunshine.

Yesterday I noticed that there is a good event for people who like to walk, cycle, rollerblade, skateboard and more. The [Lavaux Slowup](https://www.veveylavauxup.ch/) is scheduled for the 9th of June 2024 this year.
The advantage of a slow up is that roads are closed to traffic so for a few hours people can benefit from the entire width of the road to cycle, walk, run, scoot, rollerblade or do other sports.
The last one I did was in Bulle and that was a relaxed loop around a lake, up and down a few hills. Two of us were on bikes and another was on roller blades.
The Lavaux slow up is linear rather than a loop. You can take the train to the start, skate or ride along the route, and then take the train home. What makes this route special is that you have a good view of the vineyards from the lake side. It doesn’t seem to go into the vineyards.
This is a golden opportunity to have an easy bike ride, or other, along the lake, without worrying about cars and other vehicles.
For once human beings have priority over vehicles.
## And Finally
In theory this is a 10km walk, so quite easy to do for most people. Cully can be reached by train and bus, and Vevey is also easy to get to, and from.

Took my new 110mm #Rollerblade Hydrogen SE #InlineSkating wheels out for a spin yesterday. Other than loving how this setup looks I found the transition from 80mm wheels to be pretty smooth.
The only obvious difficulty is the balance being a bit less forgiving front-to-back. I also think I need to adjust the frame positioning slightly.
Looking forward to the weekend when I can take them for a longer roll!

Anyone on here knows how to strengthen / add strong layers to hard plastic boots?
As I fall & slide over & over, the plastic thins out and eventually the boot cracks. ("not falling" isn't really an option 😉). Already cracked 2 #frskates boots.
I've tried adding layers of Tuff Toe but it's not that strong and it tends to peel off eventually, the bond doesn't hold on to the frskates boot plastic that well.

Just the other day I saw someone #rollerblading and I wondered whatever happened to the #skates I had as a kid.
Today I found these waiting for me on the sidewalk. They look big enough to fit me so I'm gonna see if I can skate home!

Today was wheel rotation day for my #InlineSkates. The axles were tightened from the factory to the point where I thought I was going to snap the Allen wrench. It was pretty insane.
